What a contest!!!

On one side a narcissistic, deluded, corrupt old fool.

On the other side Donald Trump - another narcissistic, deluded, corrupt old fool.

The only difference seems to be that Biden adheres to Denis Thatchers famous quote "better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool rather than open it and remove all doubt", whereas Trump can't help himself and descends to new levels of stupidity every time he utters a word.

What a deeply unedifying pair - making America grate again 🤔

That's a quote from Mark Twain. I don't think the old duffer could have come up with that. On the other hand, he was attributed with the quote "The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money”, so he clearly knew what he was talking about. 😉

That’s a very valid point.

Whichever one is elected I think the electorate should pay a bit more attention to the Vice President/Running Mate this time.

God knows what happens if either of them pop their clogs before November.

Voter apathy rules in US- only 55.7 per cent bothered to vote in 2016 election. One of the lowest rates in the world. Tumbleweed.
 
We don't have any room to talk about voter apathy.

One of the key issues for them will be the extent to which the Democrats manage to get their vote out. The white racist supremacists will turn out for Trump, he's their walking wet dream.
 
It's all about the economy, always is, on both sides of the Atlantic, everything else is just background noise.

If by some miracle the economy is ok in November Trump wins, if it's like it is now he loses.

The presidential vote is a bit like a general election vote here with the vast number of votes counting for naught. For the vast majority of US voters their electoral college votes are pretty much pre-ordained.
 
Well I expect Trumpy Pants will leap into the lead after the latest “we have the lowest mortality rate in the world” pronouncement.

It's not that he has no opposition. The opposition is very sensibly keeping his head down for the time being and letting Donald own the shitshow all by himself.

There was an interesting article over the weekend in which Jonathan Friedland (I think, could be wrong) argued that Biden needs to win by a landslide, because if it is at all close Donald will call foul and refuse to go.

I see that the Orange Buffoon is re-starting his daily Covid briefings from tomorrow so expect Biden's poll lead to increase even further while they continue.
 
It's funny how Scaramanga never posts a link to any of Donald's excesses, isn't it? I wonder why that is?

As for that link, it is mildly embarrassing to get caught wool-gathering like that. But at least he didn't tell any lies, mislead anyone about matters relating to their health, mock the disabled or suggest that uppity black women born in the USA should go back "to where they came from".

Well you clearly don’t read enough of my posts then do you. I have repeatedly said on here that Trump is an absolute mentalist. Why can’t you admit that JB is not for for office ? I’ll tell you why because of you’re obsession with all things Trump. Even to the point your new put down is Very Trumpian.

So what specifically makes him unfit for office? Is it his time in the Senate or his 8 years as VP? What policy makes him unfit?

On the subject of American politics and odds I saw on Oddschecker the other day that there is a possibility Of Meghan Windsor Markle running for the Presidency in 2024. She is being quoted at 100/1. The political tipster seems to believe there will be interest at this price as we go on, and the odds were much longer until small to medium investments at massive prices forced her into the 100/1.

Nothing surprises me anymore. Nothing.
 
Except of course that's a really old clip from a Meet The Press interview where he cites the Defence of Marriage Act 1996 that had cross party support and reflected blue collar views of America. Since at least 2012, in an interview on Meet The Press again, Biden gave wholehearted support to same sex marriage and has remained a staunch supporter of LGBTQ rights to the point where he has officiated two gay marriages.

It's fascinating and quite scary that the world's most powerful nation has a political system that throws up a choice between these two. They are both more rubbish than Boris and Jeremy, and that's saying something. They both have dark pasts, with plenty of opportunity to be litigated against, and they both are too old to lead a nation. God help America.
