The lad looks miles off competing for a first team spot from what I saw last night, would a half season loan or a move permanently away be better for all?.
Not singling him out, just a opinion because the lad is not a up and coming dev squad player he should be effecting the first team by now.

Doesn't look close to getting in the 1st team so loan him out - sure there is a decent player there just needs to get a chance of regular games to improve.

I opened this thread because I thought he played really well. 🤷 He is a big lad for a full back. Yes he was outmuscled a bit but with a run of games he should pick up that guile, nous and ability to give as good as he gets.

To be fair he hasn’t played hardly any games this season but his passing wasn’t good ,long or short which is a shame.Needs a loan in Jan

He had a season at Accy in L1 last season but he didn't come back showing the kind of improvement that Casey did from a similar L1 loan.

Yeh I dont think he is at the level we will be needing. I'm not slating him but he doesn't look comfortable enough on the ball for how we want to play. In another style/team he could be a decent player in league 1 but not for how we want to play.

He's a centre half playing at right back, whenever I've seen him at Ch he's looked decent to be fair,

I've seen him a few times and I don't think last night was his best performance. He defended OK but his distribution was careless.

Although it looked bad I thought he was brave in respect he tried to do long passes that most of our players would not be brave enough to try. Where others were passing it around at the back ,he tried to move it forward and although it didn't come off for him last night ,it may in the future . I would definately give him more time . You also have the bonus of his long throw too.

A bit unfair to overanalyse anyone too much in a makeshift side fairly short of first-teamers that did well for most of the game against a side made up mostly of first-team players.

It was mentioned in one of the match commentaries (by Chisnall I think) that Tharme had elected not to go out on loan, because he preferred to work with Critchley to try to improve his game.

I thought Tharme played ok and was involved all night in the game.
Who was 44? Young lad seemed a passenger and I don't think he ventured into the opponents half once, but he can only learn and get better.
The other young lad played ok too for a debut in the first team.

He looks slow and overweight to me. He gave the ball away a lot last night, but he kept showing for it. Agree that lack of game time could be the issue.

A loan in Jan would either improve him or put him in the shop window. A win win for us and him if he's in the last year of his contract.

We need numbers at the back, including a few spares, if the manager is going to insist on playing three central defenders in every game.

If we can move him on we should. Frees up a space in the squad, if we need a defender we can call someone from the youth set up and, if we can get him a move, it’s only fair to let the lad go and play

I thought the young lad Squires had a better game than Tharme. Good potential there IMO.
? Someone just said he was a passenger?
It makes me laugh how everyone sees a different game.
And to be fair to Tharme when you haven't had any game time you can't just slot in and be as sharp as you would like, you need games.
Anyone who's played the game knows that.

Agree mate we do notice diff players in diff games. That’s football fans for you. Tharme did ok for the time out. Gabriel was best player for us in first half easily IMO and look how long he’s had out injured. Someone else may think he was just ok? And you don’t have to say that old line ‘anyone who’s played the game knows that’ 😂 of course they do, just like the vast majority of those who have never played the game. 😂 All opinions mate.
