Dressing room honesty

This cannot go on. Something or a number of things are clearly not right . The players need to be dead honest with Critchley and if it his tactics, his formation, his man management, his team selection etc etc etc, then things needs to be said and have a clearing of the air.
I have been watching the Pool for over 55 years and rarely if ever have I been more disillusioned, frustrated and saddened by what I have witnessed this season especially away from home.

You’ve been watching Pool for 55 years and rarely if ever been more disillusioned, bollocks!

This thread is about the here and now. I realise we have been through some dreadful times but now under new ownership, financially hopefully secure, our expectations and hopes are heightened. Sadly these hopes and expectations are not being met. The playoffs are still achievable but not without change. What that change needs to be I do not know but what I do know is that honesty between manager and players is required and more transparency between the club and supporters is also needed.

Rarely have managers been given the resources and had the squad tbh. We have had bad times but also were a shambles of a club. Unless there is some decisiveness a poor managerial regime is going to take the club into a place none of us want to go. Sadler has provided both resources and stability but has a blind spot to managerial appointments. Having Mansford still acting as Appleton's agent says the lot.

If they want to be honest in the dressing room they need to man up and say we’ve turned into a League 1 ‘Spursy”.

When it’s going our way we look fine and in control but the moment the heat is on or we’re put under pressure physically and mentally we completely go under.

Christmas Day off before a trip to Burton sums it up well. Too nice, too soft.

We need a manager who can manage ?
This is his problem, in his first stint he played his “yes” men ahead of the ”best” men. He falls out with anybody that challenges him - Big Marv, King Kenny and Andy Lyons for example - he just has no man management skills at all.

when Dembele was substituted v Bristol Rovers after a MOTM performance Critchley blanked him as he came off ! He has shown with us twice now, at Aston Villa and QPR he cannot manage, he can coach, and he employs two dorks who never challenge or answer back.

If he stays we are going nowhere - we need someone in who can manage and will change tactics if not working, rather than keeping loyal to play book - Tony Mowbray!

Can you provide evidence for any of this?
Or are you just making stuff up?

'He cannot manage';

1st season promotion
2nd season comfortably survive
3rd season 8th with half the season to go

It's been disappointing recently but there is a lot of garbage spoken on here.
I would guess that Critchley would want to play Dougall and Ekpiteta but he is not able to. I would also suggest that a major factor in the current bad run is the absence of Dougall.

Really ??? We’re 8th … have you been asleep for most of those 55 years ??

I agree 100%, i think its the players that need to say things to each other in the changing room without the staff being there, its can be the only time players say what they want when the shackles are off and the hierarchy aren't in the room

1st season promotion - Experienced footballer Calderwood came in after dreadful start .

2nd season comfortably survive- Experienced footballer McCall was his no2.

3rd season 8th with half the season to go- No experienced footballer to advise .The season falling apart at an alarming rate .

Now what could possibly be done about this situation assuming he doesn’t get potted ?
Answers on a postcard .

I'm sure that will be the next soundbite from Critchley that they've reviewed the last 2 disasters and had an open discussion. Throw in illness in the camp and being determined to put things right against Lincoln.

All of them need to have a look at themselves. Critchley with his formation that doesn't suit or work for these players. The players for being so fcuking weak when faced with even the slightest obstacle.
Critch said in an interview that top teams all have the most possession and he's right they do but they also are the teams who refuse to lose and usually become the nastiest b*sterds when they are losing. We are far too nice with players who just don't have that nasty ruthless side to them.

So, he must 'have won' the dressing room for home matches and 'have lost' the dressing room for away matches? Yesterday I saw players who lost most 50/50 challenges, couldn't pass with any quality and were crap at finishing. That is not down to the manager. The problems are not so straight forward as binning the manager

You must have an extremely short memory

Yes but we were told we have the dream owner,a passionate one at that with money no object.Look at last season, bullshit hired appleton, appleton hired bridcut. If that’s not a job fot the boys club, then I don’t know what is.

Critchley was taking advice from Mansford but failed to see through him. Mansford back from Israel in mid October.

His persistence in playing 3-5-2 is the issue and the stubbornness to change. Undoubtedly Kenny and Marv should be starting assuming available.

Teams have sussed us out. We can only play one way. It’s far too pedestrian, too many touches and when we lose the ball in the final third we are exposed at the back.

Travelling on the day of the Burton game and not training on Christmas Day seems very unprofessional to me too. It appears he wants to try and keep players happy and clearly doesn’t pick the strongest team available.

He is quite possibly a very good coach but he’s massively underachieving with this squad. Not a manager for me and the sooner he goes the better. It will be interesting to see if the ‘security’ are protecting the dugout like under the MM regime.

Maybe three have already stood up, KK, Jord and Eki.
