Dujon Sterling & Chelsea Sanctions

With the Abramovic sanctions, Chelsea aren't allowed to sign players or offer new contracts.

With Dujon Sterling's Chelsea contract up at the end of this season, this surely means he's set to leave on a free?

If he does leave on a free do you not think other teams will be interested?
Unfortunately, Blackpool aren't the only team looking to recruit players and I'm sure he'll find a club higher up the league table and offering better money.

It would be if his contract was up this season. The more interesting question is whether we are allowed to actually make payments to them in reference to his loan. Possibly we have to pay into Escrow?

Transfermarkt usually quite good with contract expiry etc, they reckon his contracts up end of this season?

Wizzer don’t be a killjoy, l got quite excited thinking about Dujon signing full time for us. Just because your missing the nobbers and Forest games because you let your missus book a holiday during the footy season ……🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Unless he took a massive pay cut there’s no chance he’s coming to Blackpool permanently.

That's what I thought every time someone mentioned us signing him. Just looked online though and it says he's on £7,400 a week which is a lot less than I would have guessed. Obviously that number might not be correct.

Is anyone at Blackpool on similar wages? And who's the highest paid?

No doubt he’s going home at the end of the season and good luck to him, he’s been a great asset to us but he won’t return they seldom do!

From the same website, it has Sterling as our highest paid player. Callum Connolly on £6,400 in second place. I'm really not sure how reliable it is, it seems strange out highest paid player would be a utility type. I would have guessed Yates would have been top after his new contract. It has him at £6,100.

Whatever happens he has been one of our better loans. If we are to make a play off push next season, we should bear him in mind,as we need to improve our squad.
If Everton get relegated then they also drastically need to cut costs and we should take advantage, we have done well from Everton and Critch has watched their youth regularly.

If Everton get relegated I would imagine that most of their younger players will be getting regular games.
They'll have to offload loads of top earners off their books.
They've got a new ground development to fund too!!

Not even close! Chelsea were giving out £8k a week to first year pros not so long ago, absolutely ridiculous football club. Think he’s on his 3rd contract now with them…

Are they allowed to receive money from us in the meantime?
Interesting question. Chelsea are allowed to pay him. However, he is an asset of RA, so should we be paying him money for use of his asset? Now these sanctions are hitting closer to home, it shows how messy they can be in terms of individual lives.

Was that routine though, or a special case for an exceptional talent?

I understand that Liverpool and a couple of others cap their first year pros at about £40,000 per year, and I'm not sure all of them even get that, so for Chelsea to be paying x10 looks like a one off.

Would people stop quoting ‘transfermarkt’ as if it’s real? His wages do not appear anywhere online because they’re private between him and his employer.

Given that Abramovich has now been sanctioned would it not now be an act of solidarity to seize one of his assets and keep him for life (or at least till the end of next season)?

Apart from Sterling, I believe Chelsea has dozens of players on loan, assuming they will all now have to ret at the end of their loan spells, their wage bill is going to rocket.
