East stand for P***ton at home

What do we think the club will do regarding the Northern section of the East Stand? The demand will be there for home fans but I have a horrible feeling we will see a stand full of Nob enders come derby day 😡

Sadly it will be for the Nobbers(if they can fill it),I think. You really don't want your fiercest rivals gaining any advantage, but the club have already stated the north end of the east is not happening for home fans.

If we give them a third of the ground (which is pretty much what the East stand is), then it's a disgrace. You're not telling me that there is nothing the club can do to ensure the north half of the stand is given to home fans. It really needs to do whatever it takes.

They will not give the north side of that stand to the nobbers as the chances of trouble rise from most likely to guaranteed. It would be absolute carnage and not worth whatever money it brings in. Surely we can get at least a thousand home fans in there for that game with a decent netted off area. Would be very disappointing if we can’t get 12,000 - 13,000 home fans in for it

For safety reasons I don’t believe the club would give that section to away fans

My question about giving it to home fans would be, where are these fans for the other games, when other parts of the ground are not sold out?

Why make special arrangements for fans who clearly just turn up for the local derby?

If the demand is there, the club will open that section, or part of it, for all games. As things stand, demand is not there.

Money

2,000 @ £23 a ticket = £46,000 take a bit off due to a few chavvy kids turning up giving it the biggun. Whilst this must be tempting surely if we gave the nobbers that section the police/stewarding costs would at least double…..and then there’s the possibility of the Clubs name been dragged through the mud because of poor behaviour……bad idea IMO and will not happen

if it was me:
I’d be put netting across a third of each half of the East Stand either side.
Give the nobbers all the East (4/6ths), and open the South East triangle to Pool
Fans.
It will create another great “Derby Atmosphere” hopefully 3 points for TMP.

And hopefully we get ALL not half of the Bill Shankly Stand in March, creating another great “Derby Atmosphere and another 3 points for TMP👍👍🚌#87

It would be a real shame if that section was completely empty. I’d rather see those seats given to Preston (if they can sell them- big if) rather than be empty.
Also if we only give them say 2000-2200 tickets are they going to give us the full away stand? They might limit are allocation as a result

Problem is when we play them away, we will take over 5000, but if we are shitty with them, they might be shitty back and only give us 3500 tickets.

*Our not are

Don’t see the difference between giving them the whole thing (If they can sell it) or having Blackpool fans in the north east. Would be more chance of trouble if you mix fans in the east tbh.

We’ve give them the north east before.

From the Blackpool Gazette

Where will away fans be housed this season?
Brett Gerrity confirmed that away fans will be housed in the East Stand, initially in the south east end by the facilities and then any overspill will be in the north east end. There will not be a shared provision with any home fans. He confirmed that there are no plans at the moment for any home fans to be housed in the East Stand.

I’am amazed some on here want to make special arrangements to house the drifting Pool fans who haven’t bothered going to a game yet but will come along for the Preston/Blackburn games and won’t bother turning up again this season.

If we can’t sell out 3 sides give them the whole east otherwise we’ll get a limited amount at Deepdale.

I'd put tickets up so sale ASAP and then see how we go selling out the three stands first when we have decided what day its on and time of KO as can't see it being Sat 3pm giving the nobbers half of the East initially.

Ridiculous comment. If we can get home fans in there then we should. We want to expand our fanbase and that kind of petty single mindedness is counter-productive. Why would you give 5k seats to away fans when we will comfortably fill that half of the East with pool supporters?

If you read my so called ridiculous comments again that’s what I’ve said for Christ’s sake.
“If we can’t sell out 3 sides give them the whole east”
Apologies if you don’t understand what I mean but I can’t say it any other way. 🙄

To me, your post implies that the fans who haven't turned up to the home matches so far will turn up for Preston and Blackburn at home but you want to stick your fingers up to them and not let them take up the seats in the North end of the East. Apoligies if you meant otherwise.

The demand will obviously be there for Preston at home. So the only place additional fans can be housed is in the East. Otherwise we are locking pool fans out to accomodate for them lot.

They will get 2200 for the south end of the east. They will sell out their allocation.

Until we can fill our own end it's a fair comment and our fans in the east is a dream until then.

Strongly Agree

For Preston Away

Away fans are housed in the modern Bill Shankly Kop at one end of the pitch. Normally the allocation for away fans is approximately half of this stand (3,000 seats). However for teams with a large away support, then the whole end can be allocated, raising the allocation to 6,000.

🤞 Here's hoping

If Preston only get 2,200 then I reckon they will only give 2,400 for the return fixture. The minimum you have to provide is 10% of your capacity.

But our capacity is only about 16k so us giving them 2400 is about 15%.

Them giving us 15% is about 3600.

If we give them the whole east thats about 28%, which is like us being given 6700 ish.

Don't know what the solution is, no one will be happy either way. If we give them the whole east its an advantage being the whole length of the pitch. Plus some pool fans may miss out.

I'd say given them the south east and corner, about 3k. North side for pool fans but tbf none have shown the desire to make it so far all at the same time and fill the 3 sides....

There is no minimum allocation for away fans for league games.

Police will have the final say so as to allocation I’m guessing for the visit of the nobsacks.

We will get the whole of that stand behind the goal at dumpdale later in the season.

I can’t see home fans being in the east as away fans have started coming in from the north end to stop the trouble of them coming out of the south at full time.

Not sure drifting fans is an accurate description. Some cannot attend every game due to work, family or location but they may be able to deal with these issues for some of the bigger games, therefore more Blackpool fans are likely to attend against preston.
It doesn't make them fickle or disloyal it's a case of life away from football coming first.

There's no point having a north end of the East Stand if we never plan to use it. For the sake of Simon Sadler's stretched finances we ought to have a plan to use it either for away fans or home fans.

We could really do with finding out what day and time this game is taking place. Purely for selfish reasons as I wouldnt be able to go if it’s moved to the Sunday!!

There is no minimum allocation for away fans for league games.
of course there is, if there wasn’t then why would teams who sell out the home ends even bother with an away allocation?

The official rule is 2,000 away supporters or 10% if your ground holds less than 20,000.

You can sell home tickets well in advance. Get them all sold in the south, West and North ASAP so the club has reassurance that they will sell the Northern end of the East. For the club a loss of 1800 tickets sales would be at least £36k.

Doh!! Because that's how you go about building and developing a fanbase, as opposed to going out of your way to prevent new fans from coming, perhaps?

The nobbers are going mad on their site 😂 they assume they will get 2200 tickets, which will sellout. Then they will bring another 3000 with no tickets, or some in the home end. All of which is laughable, they cant understand why we are stating they wouldn’t sell out the full east, as they take 7000 to t’rovers.
Its easy to explain,; history dear nobbers, you never sell out here, never had fans with no tickets, and definitely not had any nobbers in the home end. Amazing the delusion they have, we don’t guess, we know from previous visits that you don’t come here for some reason.
police having a meeting to discuss timings/away fans etc

I have never seen any knobbers in the home end at Blackpool ever. I have seen the reverse a few times.
