That's very kind, thank you. Lee Charles has kindly offered to do an interview with me which is great, so I can enlighten you with the ups and downs of life as a non league footballer while maintaining a job in education. No doubt I'll make my career sound much better than it actually was!! I can tell you that going to work the next morning after travelling to the likes of Wrexham, Barrow, Grimsby or Fleetwood away on a Tuesday night was a challenge to say the least!

Thank you very much. It’s actually really heartwarming to see the response so far. Ever since our FA cup tie the relationship between the clubs has been great and it’s nice to see such a massive club with a distinct lack of arrogance or disregard for a club like ours. As I’ve mentioned previously, I have family links to Blackpool, my Nan was a childhood friend of Sir Stanley Mathews and she spent most of her youth in Blackpool, working as a clipper on the trams. If she were still alive this would warm her heart too. Funny how things work out sometimes.

That a good read. That journalist has a very nice turn of phrase. One of our ex players, another Ben - Ben Burgess, also went into teaching after his retirement, and it's interesting to hear him talk about that switch. It's such a shame the testimonial clashes with the playoff final, as I live in Hampshire and it would have been good to get down there - looks like it will be a great day.Morning all. Thank you. Yes, hopefully the day will go well. It is a shame about the clash but I’m made up for you guys getting to Wembley. We’ll be in the bar afterwards watching. I am sure the other Ben has found it an interesting switch from football to teaching! My situation is slightly different in that I taught alongside football, which proved to be a difficult balancing act at times. Wouldn’t change it though.

Seriously, I have applied for a Wembley media pass and would love to be at both matches! I've been covering non-league for - get this - 55 years (pro bono - it's what we do) but never covered a game at Wembley. But the DataCo guys have just told me I'm only on a reserve list so I will probably be up on our wobbly gantry for Ben's game after all.
We love your club to bits. Thank God you got your club back from the unmentionable family. Oh and Keshi isn't really my nephew.

Just unfortunate with things how they are. If it had been a normal time and the testimonial was Saturday and play off final on Sunday could have carried on south and brought a few down for the weekend as a detour. Hopefully there'll be chances in future.
12+ years is an impressive length of service to one club. Not many of those situations nowadays.
Thank you Poolfc. 12 years is a long stint but now I’m out other side, I only wish it could’ve been longer. It’s a real shame the way the dates worked out but it is what it is and I appreciate the support I’ve been shown by the Pool fans so far. Hopefully many more will see fit to buy a couple of tickets for the shirt raffle, it’s a great prize and an even better time to win it!! Only 45 tickets sold so far, so fingers crossed other join the party

Is there any word of a pre-season friendly being sorted with you lot yet? My plan is to coerce the misses with a lovely summer break/weekend away in Eastbourne, it'll just so happen to coincide with our preseason friendly!
I'd probably end up coming anyway regardless of the friendly, as from a google search it looks a beautiful place. Would just be a cherry on top if there was a Blackpool game to attend as well!

I do hope something can be worked into our pre-season schedule. A weekend in late July would be just perfect.
I know both sets of fans are up for it, but there is nothing in our schedule against you guys. TBH I’d imagine you have bigger fish to fry, at least for this season. It’d be great if it could happen in future though. If any of you guys ever head to the south coast of your own accord though, you’d be more than welcome at the Lane to watch a game.

Does anyone know them, or have a different way to contact them? I've basically just asked about the Eastbourne pre-season friendly as there was lots of interested expressed by our fanbase at wanting it to happen, if the club already have what we're doing planned then fair enough but it's work an ask just in case!
