No class....Is it just me who's annoyed by Argentina fans wearing football shirts at a rugby match?
That's what people said about the racist South Africans, but they were very lucky to beat us. Borthwick has done wonders in the short time he's been in charge. It's not pretty at the moment but it works. With the new regime going forwards and other countries going backwards (hello, Paddy), the six nations will be very interesting next year. My money would be on France at the moment.Well that was bloody hard work but well done England in the end.
Just happy we’re not facing the All Blacks in tomorrow’s final as they would tear us a new arsehole.
Borthwick has taken advantage of a very favourable draw to take England to third place. That's what people said about the racist South Africans, but they were very lucky to beat us. I think that anyone with any rugby knowledge knows that Ireland and France are the best Northern hemisphere teams at the mo.3rd place is a lot better than I had expected and we were a dodgy call away from a guaranteed 2nd. Anyone writing us off against New Zealand is a little previous, as Blackpool fans we should know a final is anyone's. I'm desperately disappointed our lads didn't get a chance to take on the All Blacks, a team not too long ago, also written off. Borthwick deserves great praise, as do the players, yet again it's nice to see England being the cream of the northern hemisphere at a world cup.
Didn't see either in the semi finals? Rankings show England as favourites for Euro 2024, they mean nothing. Let's see how the 6 nations pan out.I think that anyone with any rugby knowledge knows that Ireland and France are the best Northern hemisphere teams at the mo.
Don't you mean the least worst? NH rugby never delivers when it matters and France/Ireland are currently the main reason for that. Irelands "golden generation" failed big style and France balls up their big chance against SA in front of a partisan home crowd. England too contrived to lose at the last minute but at least nobody expected them to deliver anything at this World Cup. Back to the comfort zone of the 6 Nations where the winners will no doubt delude themselves that they are back on the world stage. One NH World Cup win demonstrates that it is far from being a global game - the 6 nations is definitely a league below the annual competition in the SH.I think that anyone with any rugby knowledge knows that Ireland and France are the best Northern hemisphere teams at the mo.
Borthwick is just carrying on from where Eddie Jones to left us, win the ball and kick for territory, even Argentina played with ball in hand last night, we have some of the best backs in the world but apart from Chile they hardly touched the ball.3rd place is a lot better than I had expected and we were a dodgy call away from a guaranteed 2nd. I agree it should have been us in the final but we’ve beaten Argentina twice now and both were very close games which could have gone either way but New Zealand put 44 points past Argentina conceding just 2 penalties in the semi final in a totally dominant one sided game. That's what people said about the racist South Africans, but they were very lucky to beat us. NZ won't be knocking the ball on giving SA scrums. Take the Scrum penalties out of the game and South Africa will struggle against NZ.I agree it should have been us in the final but we’ve beaten Argentina twice now and both were very close games which could have gone either way but New Zealand put 44 points past Argentina conceding just 2 penalties in the semi final in a totally dominant one sided game.
My prediction for the final is a comfortable All Blacks win.
Oh come on mate. The draw was a farce!Didn't see either in the semi finals? Rankings show England as favourites for Euro 2024, they mean nothing. Let's see how the 6 nations pan out.
Yes, dant argue with that although the British Lions are usually competitive.Don't you mean the least worst? The draw was undoubtedly favourable but all any team can do is beat who is in front of them. England gave South Africa a bigger scare than France, albeit our game was more attritional. We are a little behind Ireland and France but that doesn't mean we should be ashamed of our bronze medal. The team was bonded together at the last minute by Borthwick and showed a lot of character, if not enough flare. The next 4 year cycle starts again, I'm sure all teams will have a changing of the guard. It'll make for an interesting 6 nations, I just hope it has given our players a bit of a confidence boost.Oh come on mate. The draw was a farce!
Oh I'm not saying you should be ashamed. In fact, I would celebrate it. I'm just trying to be realistic. Ireland and France are head and shoulders above the rest of us at the mo IMO. Even Scotland are improving. Anyway, looking forward to the 6 nations. The draw was undoubtedly favourable but all any team can do is beat who is in front of them.
