England v Spain Women Thread

Think they are staying in my hotel. Load of fit in both sence of the word Spanish looking birds training past week on football pitches. Seem to have a middle aged male coach.

Just saw the headline so quickly took a look on BBC Sport

Great goal.

But can someone tell me whether it was a commentator screaming in the background or someone in the crowd? Painful

We were a touch fortunate to get through there, but they say it's a sign of a good team that don't fire on all cylinders but still manage to grind out a result. Well done to the ladies!

Well played, really enjoyed that and what I loved the most was the smiles and joy on the faces of so many young girls, girls who will love football and want to play it and not only will they want to go to watch women's football there are going to be so many who want to go with their dad or mum or mum and dad to watch the men's game, it will happen at Pool and I'm sure some of you with daughters will already be getting asked that you take them too. Great!

Terrific entertainment. I can't believe I was jumping up and down watching ladies playing football.

It's funny how the national teams seem to resemble their respective men's teams. Spain were technically excellent, cynical, skillful and annoying. England were not as good technically but were super fit, gave everything for the cause and came though with sheer guts. The German, Dutch and Scandinavian women also resemble their respective men's playing style.

How refreshing to see an England team not wasting time & taking the ball to the corner flag👍

Great win England!
Quite agree can't be doing with it. Even against Salford last night Maxi taking a maxi amount of time for every goal kick. A throw whatever goes against you so the ball is kicked away for good measure.
Nice to see football being played flat out like tonight's game
