Kicks off 4.00 tomorrow morning. Can we do it? A good start is essential IMO. At least we have Foakes behind the stumps.
You always fear the ‘No, no, no Tom don’t tweak your fingers like that. What you need to do is to change everything that got you selected…’.Hope Tom Hartley goes well and doesn't have a Simon Kerrigan
Stokes?I guess one of the three specialist spinners will be opening the bowling?
Hope Hartley does well but having seen him bowl a lot over the last few years it's hard not to think he's in the Test team as a spinner because he can hold the bat and field well.
And for the record, he's a really good white ball bowler of a certain type.
Not so sure about your comments about signing Lyon’s - as when a player of that quality becomes available you have to look at it regardless.Agreed. He makes a limited impact in the County Championship as a spinner so the next step up is a huge ask. If Lancs thought he could bowl teams out we wouldn’t have signed Nathan Lyon.
EnjoyWould rather watch paint dry
Any particular colour?Would rather watch paint dry
At least you don't have to watch them capitulate like a deck of cards. I don't have TNT either.I have no idea why I pay for Sky Sports, they haven't got the cricket AGAIN! I have no idea where too watch it!
TNT have bought the rights to allI have no idea why I pay for Sky Sports, they haven't got the cricket AGAIN! I have no idea where too watch it!
Forgive me but do we play to win or just entertain these days? The way England now play ,under Bazball , is certainly entertaining, can’t understand anyone who disagrees .
First ball off Hartley goes into the stands.1st ball down the leg side for four
Same every series. We seem to think we can just turn up in different conditions to an indoor net and hit the ground running. Series after series we lose the first test. It's as if we write it off as practice time.Questions need to be asked about the lack of preparation for this series
Tangerine, obviouslyAny particular colour?

Since adopting its swashbuckling style of cricket, colloquially dubbed 'Bazball', England has won 11 of their 13 Tests under Brendon McCullum's guidance, with no series defeats.Forgive me but do we play to win or just entertain these days?
Yes agree 100% with the entertain and win bit only you just mentioned entertain in your earlier comments that’s all.Since adopting its swashbuckling style of cricket, colloquially dubbed 'Bazball', England has won 11 of their 13 Tests under Brendon McCullum's guidance, with no series defeats.
i would say to win & entertain, as results prove .
Any colour rather than watching thatAny particular colour?
Seemed a crazy decision to get him toAbout as tough a debut as you can get for Hartley
Simon Kerrigan, here we go again. Thank you England.About as tough a debut as you can get for Hartley
Trouble is they already known that Leach is not the strongest. Any they love playing spin, a skill we seem to have lost, both batting against and bowling. I expected them to open with Root as at least he has some variety.Seemed a crazy decision to get him to
Open the bowling? Surely the experience of Leach should have been the call?
