England women v Latvia

Just watching this till Newcastle Norwich starts but England are 5-0 up after 18 mins. This could be 15.
If women's football is to move forward they need better coaching for goalkeepers and defenders.Or maybe reduce the goal size. I feel sorry for the Latvian keeper , 50 odd year old me could do better....as long as they give me a couple of minutes to get up after diving 😀

It't really poor. Some of these women's international matches make England Men v San Marino men look like a tight tactical scrap.

It's humiliation for Latvia.

10-0 after 51 mins. Ridiculous.

....and give you time to get your balls chopped off 👍

This reminds me of how the nobbers would perform if they ever got to the Premiership. And yes I'm talking Latvia.

It was equally unentertaining when England men thrashed San Marino. There needs to be a separate qualifier section for the minnows whereby the best one or two teams join the main draws. That way their games against each other would be more competitive. It can’t be doing these international teams any good in their development getting absolutely larruped.

Best way is like I do boycott this utter shite no viewing figures it soon will get dropped.
Won't though will it as the powers that be are driven by an agenda that says we must have it on, although nobody watches it or gives a shit. Then we have women footballers who you have never heard of and can't play demanding they get paid the same as men. All for equality if they were any good but they are crap

Yep more people will have been at Bolton v Fleetwood in a crappy EFL game than would have seen England women batter someone 20-0 but hey lets have this agenda driven nonsense rammed down our throats.

Womens football is equivalent to under 9s,and just as exciting.... Don't understand why it is getting so much coverage, box ticking at its finest....

It's the same issue with female pundits. You wouldn't get someone from AFC Fylde on match of the day or radio 5 live telling us about the pressure of being in the premier League or analysing the England team line up.

Be honest is anyone remotely bothered at all with women's football, why can't the BBC accept that the standard is utter crap and take the drivel off our screens, oh and women pundits too
Nope it's pointless but you can't say that without upsetting the soft arses of the world.

Sky and the BBC (Alex woke Scott especially) can try all they like, it will never take off. The attendances in the women's game are barely conference level, with the very odd exception

Talk about elephant in the room. Listening to 5 live this morning and they re on about records tumbling, goalscoring legends etc etc. No one mentioning that they ve scored a ridiculous 46 goals without reply in their last 5 games.
It's a farce and wouldn't be noteworthy in any other field unless it was women playing.
Currently it's not the same as the men's game and shouldn't be reported as such

If some of you are going to burst a blood vessel watching it, then can I suggest not doing so?

Women's football is given higher billing nowadays to attract more interest and more women to the sport at grassroots. It'll never generate as much money, or interest, as the men's game - so you don't need to worry.

But you all moan about the quality, how do you expect it to improve if it isn't shown or talked about.

I had no idea they were playing last night, didn't interact with it or see it on any of my social media - only discovered it via some old blokes moaning about it on here...

Better scrap conference level football then. What's the point if they only get attendances the same as women's football? Is another way of looking at it.

Here's an idea. If you don't like it, don't watch it. The amount of apoplexy on here is a joke.

I find that there are literally hundreds of channels on my curved TV 😉 .

I haven't seen any of the goals from last night's games and it doesn't bother me.

Let it go.

I don't remember all this criticism when our men beat San Marino 10-0 the other week. Just a lot of gushing about Harry Kane.

The standard of women's football is rising - as are crowds. The main problem it has is the gulf between best and worst, particularly at national level. A lot like the men, really., albeit to a greater degree.

As for women having a wider role in football as pundits etc : clearly some of you don't like it. But you were quite happy to have a woman lead you through the boycott years.

But that's not what I meant though. Top flight women's football has no interest, conference football has been around since, well long, long before womens football. I don't see the Beeb and Sky trying to shove that down our throats.

Was that at the point that you were still attending and being very pro Oyston?

The BBC are pushing the product they have broadcast rights for. It's a commercial decision, first and foremost.

I think it was at the time I was doing the court reports, helping Andy devise a petition for an independent regulator, writing a case review model and advising BST on governance. Thanks for asking.

It's on BT Sports though 😉

Yes but people are already pushing for equal pay, how would you feel if that goalkeeper that cant kick a football was on the same money as Harry Kane. I'm pretty sure if this happens it will be the end as there's simply not enough money available to pay them all equal. Once again the average supporter will be asked to pick up the tab.

Didn’t even realise that there were EFL fixtures last night.
Womens football has priority on BBC scores and fixtures list.
Trawled down list of women’s results and there were the scores.

Bolton beat Fleetwood 1-0.

How do I feel about a bunch of unrealistic, hypothetical scenarios that, if were to happen, would threaten the very existence of the sport?

I don't. I get on with my day and flick the channel over if I don't want to watch something.

Regarding the equal pay argument, I think England players such as Harry Kane get £2,000 per game. Latvian internationals I expect receive less. I can’t see how you think a move towards equal pay “will be the end”.
