Enjoy the flight home boys!

It’s only a 3 hour drive max on a coach WTF is this about? I noticed another coach behind this at the grouns was this for the WAGs, board etc

I put the exact plane and departure/arrival into a CO2 calculator and it's just outrageous.

That's around the CO2 output of driving 3 cars for a whole year in the UK.
All for two 39-minute flights.

Plus the postioning flights from Southampton-East Midlands, Blackpool- Southampton, Southampton-Blackpool, East Midlands-Southampton (3hrs 20min)

So 72 passengers for the flight which is probably why 2 coaches were outside the ground 1 being the Forest coach for the players etc and the other for the rest. So have those 2 coaches driven all the way from Nottingham empty picked them up at the airport, returned them back to the airport and then driven back to Nottingham empty? If that’s the case it’s an absolute disgrace especially as there is very little snow in the Alps due to high temperatures (global warming) that’s stopping me going skiing! 🥴

The baffling part also is that Nottingham Forest actually has a climate awareness partner in E.ON and still did all of that.

It's utterly pathetic, a complete waste of resources and I hope as a club we never stoop to that level.

Completely baffling that a 2-hour-and-a-half journey on coaches (which they literally had there at their disposal) is too long and hard so they took a plane and dumped 3 years' worth of car emissions into the atmosphere on a 39-minute roundtrip flight.

I’m struggling ste getting my head around this complete waste of money but more importantly the damage to the environment, it’s little wonder that so much little attention this critical subject gets and why the major carbon spewers stick 2 fingers up!

Yes the planet is going to die because Nottingham Forest brought a couple of club coaches down the motorway. Get a ** grip climate whoppers!

It all adds up. Not necessary is the point. Get on the coach you lazy pampered knobs the plane isnt necessary

Sorry, but there is no reasonable excuse to take a 72-seater private aircraft (on a 39 mins flight each way) and 2 empty coaches driven in from Nottingham to take the squad on a 7-minute drive down the road to the stadium.

The article completely misses the fact that in addition to flying over, they also drive the club coach to Blackpool to pick them up and drive them around. Surely enough of those pink carriages could have been rounded up from the prom. Spotted the coach on Friday night driving into the airport, thought at first they had driven across and were staying at the Air Balloon 🤦

So they got a coach to the airport, waited to board the plane, flew to Blackpool, got onto a coach to Barton Grange. Time wise there’s probably nothing in it.

Get on a luxury coach from Nottingham straight to Barton Grange. Absolutely ridiculous.

Come over to Whistler mate! We’ve still got a fair bit

Meanwhile our blessed 'Net zero' Prime Minister took a Government jet to Leeds yesterday, taking 3 hours to get from Downing St to the hospital in Leeds.

'Most efficient use of time'. It's a two hour train ride which takes you right into the city centre, next to the hospital.

What kind of message does that send?

Anyway, good to know we pay for a jet to be on standby. As a Government employee, i presume i can book it to Watford on Saturday. All in this together.

It's criminal but not without precedent. When I was a civil servant in Ayrshire I was regularly required to go to meetings in Bath. After a while I worked out that it would suit me better to fly on a propeller service to Bristol and pick up a small hire car for the two days. Before that I did what was expected of me, which was to fly the Glagow shuttle to Heathrow and get a large Mondeo to journey down the M4.

On one of these Heathrow occasions I was in the Departure lounge awaiting my Friday evening flight to Glasgow along with passengers of other flights. One such passenger was the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Ken Clarke, waiting to go back to his Nottingham constituency. I thought to myself, you've been driven all the way out to Heathrow to get a half hour flight to Nottingham. Is it any wonder the railways are in a poor state.
PS. Several years earlier (1984), I caught a Glasgow train from Euston to go home for the weekend whilst working in London. On that train (1st Class obviously), was Harold Wilson, going up to his former Huyton constituency.

Just to update that tale, flights anywhere, even if cheaper than alternatives, are a definite no-no in the Civil service. Impressions in the media and all that.

"E.ON, the UK’s largest electricity provider, initially worked with Nottingham Forest during their successful 2021/22 Championship campaign, joining forces to raise awareness of the climate crisis and encourage people to consider the simple everyday ways they can make a difference and become more sustainable under the banner of #ActionForClimate."

All takes the piss really

Isnt net zero his popularity rating?

Or perhaps it's his usefulness rating.
