Well done to West Ham for getting to the final - I think realistically it's on a par with our LDV appearances when we owned the competition.

But ultimately a long way less prestigious than the Anglo Italian cup when we beat the cream of Italian football (Lanerossi Vicenza aside) 👍

The idea is that this is a third tier Euro final giving more teams a chance of European football.

The size of the stadium for the final is in keeping with the prestige of the tournament - tinpot…..

Hardly tinpot attendances for these games.
I am sure you would snap your hand off for Pool to finish 6th in PL and qualify.

The Conference League was introduced to give clubs in smaller countries a chance of playing European football.

Basically those countries whose champions lose in both the Champions League and Europa League qualifying rounds.

The idea that it’s some sort of achievement for the likes of West Ham, with ten times the budget of AZ Alkmaar, to reach a final in this competition is laughable. I would same the same about Roma.

I obviously dislike West Ham, but respect their run to the semis of the Europa league last season. That’s the lowest level that they and teams from Spain, Germany and Italy should be allowed to play at.

I actually prefer the Europa League & Conference to the Champions League which IMO has got rather boring with the super rich/ oil clubs clubs dominating the latter stages year on year.

Much preferred the Europa final between Frankfurt & Rangers last year than Liverpool v Real Madrid again.

The Europa League is a cracking competition, lots of really well supported clubs with some degree of uncertainty as to who reaches the final..

Europa League conference is still a trophy at the end of the day. When's the last time west ham actually won something other than the playoffs?
