Even the Huddersfield fans see it!

We see it, our opposition fans see it but our manager doesn't seem to want to see it! Regardless of the fighting spirit last night, that was awful football and Huddersfield were just as bad. You could quite easily swap board comments over between the two clubs and get the same feeling from each set of fans. We won't survive playing like that, it was league 2 football at best in my opinion. Sod pragmatic football, I want to be entertained, so bring on our entertainers Mick and let's give it a go!

Round us, some were calling for Patino to come on. In the situation were in that's madness.

I thought the set up was right for the game. Two holding midfielders in front of a back four has been what we've needed all season and it worked, restricting Huddersfield to very little despite them having an extra man.

My only issue was Carey, who time and time again shows he's not up to speed with this level. It's not bad luck, it's he's not good enough when he misses chances.

I had three issues Carey, Madine and Connolly. I would have lined up nearly the same but Lyons for Connolly, poveda and Bowler for Carey and Madine.

Personally I saw very little in our performance last night that showed that we can 'grind' out results with the players who started the game. We only looked liked scoring (and conceding) once our more attacking players came on. If we continue to play with the system and players we started with then we will lose a large part of our much needed support to hopefully help keep us up. The Odeon will be chocker!😉
Nailed it. Some are probably best going to the Odeon at 3pm Saturday here on in......

Right set up with four at the back and Trybull and Dougall but the front 4 is all wrong, surely, only Yates of the 4 selected should have started I think. And dropping Lyons must have weakened us I think. Im a fan of Connolly but we were at home against a very beatable side that we needed to beat. Lyons and Poveda are the form players.

Agree... feel for goode but least that forced mick to bring on lyons. Madine sending off also made decisions easier for sat. Must start bowler (play him as a winger) and poveda or Rogers for me on sat.

I don’t particular give a flying fcuk what our opposition fans think or say

This is not the time for being entertained. We are deep in the shit and we just need to grind out points anyway we can.
Accepting your post about the need to grind out points. The most appropriate part is points, not point. Macarthy seems to think we have done well to get a point, he doesn’t seem to realise, it wasn’t a point gained it was 2 points lost. We need at least 6 wins and if we can’t get them against teams like Hudds last night where are they coming from. Draws WILL get us relegated, it’s as simple as that.

That pretty well sums up the problem. As you say Carey shows he not up to the job, just yet. In his interview MM said he apologised to Carey for subbing him because he was playing really well.🤷

It’s funny how different sets of fans see things differently. My friend is a Huddersfield fan and he text me from the away end about 2 minutes before the sending off to say ‘Madine is winning everything in air’ whereas to me it looked like he was challenging but not getting the ball, or if he did his headers went nowhere near any of his team mates.

On the drive home was very scathing of his teams manager for replacing defenders for attackers to kill the game when 1-0 up, whilst we all seem to have been wanting more attackers than defensive players in our starting line up.

I'd rather we set up to win rather than set up not to lose.

Give me the Holloway style of "if they score 3, we'll score 4" any day over boring 99% defensive, stadium emptying, tactics. Tactics that got us into the Premier League. Tactics that nearly kept us in it and almost got us back again (if it hadn't been for tight arse Oyscum and some strange referee decisions).

You’re not going to be entertained in a relegation dog fight, at least not by scintillating football. That’s not how it works is it ??

This is a tiny bit different to that era. That team played with zero pressure, this is a relegation battle and not to be compared frankly

The long ball wasn't effective. Madine went off just before half time and the performance was woeful until Rogers came on, he was superb and made the difference. We need to strike a balance. I hope McCarthy can compromise and mix it. Not just the punt up front which really didn't suit our players. It wasn't just alien to them but they weren't very good at it.
You have to play to your strengths and we didn't until Rogers and Bowler came on and got the ball down on the floor and went at them.

We were in a relegation dog fight in the Prem for most of that season and for most of the games I was entertained with scintillating football. We may have eventually been relegated but we went down fighting with stylish, attractive football.

Carey has been poor for a while seen a few games where he has been terrible yet got praise from one or 2 .Shows how we view games differently .A bit like the chap on the podcast who I actually like as he is quite funny and gets lots correct and is quite entertaining .However he does have blind spot over madine who he loves .Its s bizzare how someone who is usually spot on have such a blind spot or bias over a dreadfull player .
