Yup.
Sacked at Mexford house DHSS 30+ years ago.
Told the manager that there had to be more to life than ending up as a sad sack like her.
Thankfully that’s not what’s happened to CrappletonNo..but I’d happily get paid for 4 years having only worked several months…..
Was he a clampett that got twatted?Yep when I was 17 and worked in the pancake house on Blackpool Pleasure Beach for going to Burnley away in those Lancashire cup friendlies……. boss saw me fighting outside the ground after the game
Had the same and had Tam look after the details for me which I am forever grateful. The first one I took really personally as I had grafted my nuts off for them and could not reconcile why. Only years later I can say shit happens and just understand you are just a number. Second time was another company shift in direction, nice payoff and straight into a better job. First one was pretty brutal, marched off site without being able to get my coat (literally!). It was my first proper job, one minute I had a job, 30 minutes later I was sat in the pub texting my mate to fetch me my coat and wondering what the hell happened and how I would explain to my mum that I didnt do anything wrong!
Second time was a very welcome pay off that I stuck around for 6 months in the hope it would come.
Swings and roundabouts I guess!
Yeah I’m exactly the same. I was young then and just didn’t get it and looking back it definitely shook my confidence. Now, I know companies do what they do (see P&O or Twitter as examples) and I’m more resilient and pragmatic. There are other companies out there and some are better than the one you’re at now so change is as much an opportunity as a problem!Had the same and had Tam look after the details for me which I am forever grateful.
