Everton appeal

I see this is being heard between today and Friday, with a decision expected within a fortnight or so.

What do we think the outcome will be? If I were Mr. Masters I would be desperately hoping that they get their punishment reduced significantly. But I think he's intent on short-term political gain and not really thinking about the longer term implications.

If Everton end up with a points deduction that relegates them, it will be at least the fifth consecutive season that someone has suffered the same fate.

I think they'll have a reduced penalty, maybe to 6, as Masters backtracks on his 'small club' comment.

They'll probably knock some point off the total (or suspend them), then wallop them on the next one.

The PL CX described them and Forest as 'small clubs'. They should have been relegated the last couple of years and I expect the authorities to reduce them enough to keep them up.
