Exeter

Got mine today. Anyone wants my PA ticket for £13 (£27 Exeter charged me, YIKES!) hit me up on here of the DMs

Exeter fan in peace..

St Anne's Well is definitely still open! Least it was when I was playing darts in there the other day!
Hutch, five of us plus dog are renting a cottage 3-4 miles outside the park and ride terminus. Is it a fairly regular and decently priced service?

From what I can remember, they're every 20 minutes from the park and ride, and takes about 15 minutes to get into town.

As for prices, Stagecoach are currently doing a thing where it's £2 a journey, per person no matter how far you travel. Which will be about half the price in total of a taxi. (The local companies like to charge a 'premium' on matchdays.. especially if they realise you're not a local)

Ta. Sounds like a no brainer.

So… it would appear that the St Anne’s Well is closed! Walked past and they were putting the “pub got lease” sign up.

Drinking establishment wise, you guys are more than welcome to drink at the social club at SJP itself, otherwise there’s Wetherspoons pubs in the city centre itself, about 15 minute walk through the high street away from the ground.

Hutch,

With my group stopping over I've taken a look at the Exeter pubs in the Good Beet Guide. Which of the following would you recommend for good beer and proximity to the ground:

Bowling Green
Fat Pig
George's Meeting House
Great Western Hotel
Imperial
Royal Oak
Sawyers Arms
Ship Inn
Thatched House Inn
Topsham Brewery Taproom

Bowling Green - is about a 4 minute walk but is a “home pub”
Fat pig - is in city centre but never been so can’t comment
George’s Meeting House - is a Wetherspoons about 15 mins walk
Great western hotel - is right at st David’s station but has closed down
Imperial - is also a Wetherspoons but is further down near st David’s station
Ship - is a secluded pub near the cathedral in city centre, but very expensive
Royal Oak - would depend on which one as there’s 3 in Exeter and one just outside
Thatched house - is nowhere near the ground, decent pub though
Topsham Brewery - is down on the quay, which if the weather is nice, is beautiful. But again, it’s about 25 minutes walk to the ground, all uphill.

There is also a sports bar, “The Stand Off” which is about a 5 minute walk to the ground which is very nice (probably where I’ll end up being) - owned by a couple of Exeter Chiefs players (rugby Union side)

Thanks. We'd be happy in a 'home' pub pre-match if it's allowed and the customers are the tollerant kind.
