No mate… let’s just say ‘he’s not for me’ and leave it at thatYou’d prefer a cocktail or a nice glass of Red with him?
Objective my arse, you’ve spotted an opportunity to take a dig and you’ve executed it with the venom and precision of a rattlesnake. Let’s at least be honest, if nothing else !!I'm trying to be objective, actually. More so than he was, anyway.
And I do think you are arguing for the hell of it. I think he made an interesting point about Bournemouth, but we don't know exactly what happened there and when we do we might have different opinions. Which makes me wonder why you are going out on a limb for him if you're not just doing it for devilment. You don't know any more than the rest of us.
Lee chooses to put stuff out there, and if you do you should be careful to separate fact from opinion, and back your opinions up. Has he done that, really? I don't think so. As for being "important" - I think Mr. Sadler is only interested in the circle of people immediately around him when it comes to making decisions. None of us should flatter ourselves otherwise.
I only go for the kneeling and then I leave so as not to get stuck in the traffic.great thread - not. I would hope that most fans couldn't give a monkeys about the politics and just want to watch their team play. That's not being dismissive of the fact that there might be one or two problems.
The thing is lees stuff is things like matchday videos and the video posted on this thread, fan questions and him and other pool fans answer them.
For anyone wanting more bfc discussion its clear what it is and always good to hear others views for me.
Hes a big pool fan and I'm sure many exiles in particular love seeing more who can't make it in person.
His q & a videos aren't stepping on anyone toes at the club as the club don't do that sort of content.
Hes going to every home and away game, which is a massive undertaking.
Doesn't deserve slagging off for me even if his wording wasn't the best
On a seperate point remember when there were about 50 people out of 4000 who asked for a refund after that last season where no one could attend.
There was a bit of an arsey statement put into the club minutes, which was unnecessary given the unprecedented pandemic and no one thought they wouldn't get to a game, plus many lost jobs and were probably struggling. People should have know what they signed up for but its wasn't a normal situation. Also it was a very small number.
The statement was along the lines of SS is getting fed up listening to people asking for refunds ( it was actually about 1.25% of people ) and his enthusiasm to do things may be diminished if people carry on.
I only mention that as someone earlier said if a club rep heard lees remarks it wouldn't go down well....
Which is almost a dont criticise anything at all or we might not do this....approach.....
Just to add I'm very happy with how things are going but we shouldn't be afraid to voice opinions or mention areas for feedback.
I would say no to the railway suggestion, but some sort of monorail to move corporate guests away from troublesome away fans and our own, lesser-spending ne'er do wells could be an option.
The club can't offer a special lifeline to all and sundry, especially not in this day and age where everyone with a Twitter feed and a GoPro thinks their Joe Suggs, CSI or the new Danny Baker. There's already an established place for run of the mill Blackpool FC news, features and stories of fans and their trip from the North to South Pier in a Sinclair C5 for charity, and I don't see the Gazette giving up that position lightly.
Plus, where do you draw the line?
It starts with Lee wanting to interview Joe Nuttall or film Maxwell in the shower, then you have Welsh Phil demanding his 18-page dossier on 'Why Tony Mowbray sides can be beaten by inverted full backs and the Hungarian press' be seen by Critchley and quick as a flash BasilRobbie wants to see Simon Sadler's discounted cashflow plan for sustainable Championship football over the next 30 years, whilst maintaining a carbon neutral approach to heating pies.
The club is 'for' the community, not 'care' in the community. The debate stops here.
No mate… let’s just say ‘he’s not for me’ and leave it at that
Objective my arse, you’ve spotted an opportunity to take a dig and you’ve executed it with the venom and precision of a rattlesnake. Let’s at least be honest, if nothing else !!
I’m not sure Lee is bound by any particular rules is he? You appear to be under the illusion that he’s signed up for some kind of broadcasting standards?
He’s expressed an opinion…and doesn’t think the same as you…. get over it
I’m actually not getting wound up at all… thanksYou are getting too wound up about this.
I agree that we should all be able to have opinions. I just thought his was over the top and said so. I'm not the only person who thinks it was said in a fit of pique and I stand by my view. Get over it.
No one not Peter Noone
I get the feeling that BFC_BFC_BFC just likes taking up contrary position for the hell of it. There can't be many other reasons for the tripe he's written today.
Like many others, I don't agree with Lee's sentiments, which seem perverse to me. Like others, I don't see why he should get any special favours either. There are two reasons for that - the first is that the millions Sadler has poured in entitle him to make these decisions, whether we like it or not.
The second is that the output from LCTV just isn't very good. Apart from what td53 does, I don't think any of the blogs or Podcasts are much better.
It's ironic though that he should be getting pelters for practically the only interesting thing I've ever heard him say.
What a great thread
I wish i thought of it, actually i did about 6 months ago
Anyway
Not the biggest fan of the Lee videos to be honest
However he's bang on with his comments there are a few things that don't sit right with me at the moment
Not going in to them all again but i will say that if the business model is to just rinse the same people over and over again then it won't last long
I do wonder if enough due diligence was done when Simon bought the club as it appears to me that maybe he's miss judged how much money is needed for a club like us to compete in the championship
I've seen absolutely no evidence of the club trying to build the fanbase
We honestly can't survive on just 7 or 8 thousand season ticket holders, it appears thats the plan as nothing has been done to encourage the good people of Blackpool who dont have season tickets to support the club
Its a bizarre time and i don't get it ...
19 year old son paid 28 last Saturday, paying 17 tomorrow - go figureI do agree with you about building the number of regular match-going fans. The 18-21 price point and the pay on the day costs are too high imo. Having 2000+ empty seats in the east stand every game that could be used for home fans is criminal.
I would if I could.I can see (I think) that you are trying to be humorous here, but I think you need to stop taking these things so lightly tbh.
Blackpool isn't a football town, sadly, and hasn't been since the 1950s.What a great thread

You were maintaining character well till then. Too many options for you. Copy Pip. He plays it exactly like his personality so it’s harder to find his wind ups.TBH Phil, I often wonder if Blackpool FC has our most turbulent years ahead of us.
Our supporters have gone from standing shoulder to shoulder, to some kind of gooey eyed wet walkovers…. Happy to be fucked over by a few quid and a flash of Sadlers nicely veneered gnashers…
I often wonder why we even bothered, because most of our fans will drop their knickers for a fiver…
Fcuked over by the guy who 100% got rid of the scum and their shares as well as gaining the club we love promotion within 2 years of taking over and during a pandemic …….. good job I wear boxer shorts and not knickers I supposeTBH Phil, I often wonder if Blackpool FC has our most turbulent years ahead of us.

I thought he was your mate tit d or did you just work for him?Only because Oyston was your mate he fed you with useless bits of info. Sadders has done the right thing in ingnoring you. 🌬
There’s blaming the club, but then knowing the facts, you have to acknowledge that you were wrong and it wasn’t the club who were in the wrong. Some may have been blaming the club because they didn't know what the issue was!! Back to fan engagement again.
As has been said - different people understand “fan engagement” as being different things.Great debate on this thread. There’s things everybody could have done better in their jobs and life but it’s how they look back and try and fix things. For me, we are still in this pandemic and until that’s gone or there’s more reasons to be safe with players, then stuff like signing sessions, open training sessions and the rest won’t happen, which for me is more about fan engagement. If it’s a post about tickets (which clearly is down to Bournemouth) then we need to move on, but if it’s about content and what the club should do with their fans, let’s remember the current situation. Clubs around the country aren’t doing visits to schools, they aren’t holding events, we have a small view on things. We are Blackpool and I for one am proud of what’s happened in recent years. #UTMP
Wrong about what? There’s blaming the club, but then knowing the facts, you have to acknowledge that you were wrong and it wasn’t the club who were in the wrong.
If we had seen in his last match video... Simon salder running at the camera shouting noooooo, screen goes black and scuffle noises then no videos going forward maybe people would have a point.
I take it back, just had this leaked via tangerine TV.
Yes mine might be community based, but I also get the blogs and podcast side of things. The club have moved on and done an amazing job with their preview show. As the host of the SP Friday Night Preview show, I was initially annoyed I won’t lie. But looking back, what we did away from the them was something different and unique. The club has to produce positive PR, yes the podcast wants to do that but we had the ability to voice our concerns and say that without having something over our shoulders. If you’re going to work with the club - which Lee wants to do I believe - he can’t be negative! He can be if he’s independent but not if he’s going to work with the club.As has been said - different people understand “fan engagement” as being different things.
The stuff you describe - feet on the ground - to my mind is more community engagement. And yes it’s been curtailed by lockdown etc.
It might be that for some the term “fan engagement” actually means stuff they can translate into blogs etc. Whether that’s to better inform the fanbase or build a business or a bit of both - may be at the heart of what we’re talking about.
I ain’t saying it’s you Loco, I’m trying to be general with stuff. We can all say the club was wrong about the announcement, but until we hear the facts then it’s tough. I know from being on the inside that BFC didn’t have information and decided not to post anything, I don’t blame them. Bournemouth messed up and let it go on and on and BFC were let down and so were fans as they couldn’t buy tickets and organise travelWrong about what?
And please enlighten me as to what I have blamed the club for?
My suggestion was that they be more upfront in informing supporters about ticketing issues for away games.
I've discussed this with the SLO and ticket office staff, as have a number of other supporters.
It seems the club have responded positively in regards to the Millwall tickets by putting out a holding statement.
Then you need to be more careful about how you phrase your responses.I ain’t saying it’s you Loco, I’m trying to be general with stuff. We can all say the club was wrong about the announcement, but until we hear the facts then it’s tough. Sadler does put me in mind of a young Rupert Everett thoughTBH Phil, I often wonder if Blackpool FC has our most turbulent years ahead of us.

Another stupid comment from the biggest bell end on hereHas he been silenced, has Sadds had an oyston moment.
I agree LythamTo be serious for a moment I'd rather the board just get on with making as much money for the football club as possible to support the manager without feeling the need to wank us all off every five minutes.
Why is the Critchmeister meeting fans tomorrow? Bloody ridiculous.
My name's Freddy not LeeInteresting discussion about fan engagement on @LeeCharlesTV a few minutes worth on this topic timestamped below.
Interesting thats the feeling some have, its got me thinking, whilst things are very good in a lot of areas, the stadium improvements, the media offerings are better and more professional, signing players early etc etc...
There are always things to improve. Some things take time to change and some can be better with more thought.
I do get the feeling of us being clealry a much more professional club, almost quite corporate at times and everything now has a price as we've seen. No initiatives for locals to build the fanbase, no out the box thinking for eg, was it thought of?
I think Lee won't be alone in his feelings about this and sounds like he's not from people he's spoken to.
Weve seen with the high prices for friendlies and walk on cat a games that there's been some misjudgement of what people will pay to attend such games in any serious numbers and that doesn't help fanbase growth.
Its the board who you'd imagine will be setting things like that.
This is not to have a go as its mostly positive imo, but doesn't meant we cant improve in some areas, communication etc. I've seen some decent stuff on twitter and Facebook and the media offerings are growing and improving etc.... but also true what Lee says about it lacking at times in others and things we can do more like Bristol City for eg.
We have the infrequent dialogue meeting but nothing much comes from it and questions of any real substance are skillfully batted away for another day usually. Its been mentioned about Fleetwood doing it live on YouTube so why can't we but that doesn't seem an option the club is keen on.
What do people think about the video segment attached?
I imagine many will attack this post or Lee for daring to give an opinion in any way with whats been done well and what maybe could improve, but lets discuss it openly here.
Ha ha I like this comment.Sounds like Tangerine TV might have stolen some of his views or access is now restricted more due to it being available and the Club wanting to focus on that.
It’s a Football Club not a parish council or PTFA meeting.
Granted the tickets comms had been poor but if the best reasons to say “we just get in the way” are that they didn’t tell us about Bournemouth or they don’t have a band on before a game then it can’t be that bad?
Oh and Mr Masters went to watch Fleetwood didn’t he and tweeted on what a fan he was.
This You Tube world for clicks and likes isn’t for me it also becomes entitled. We’ve lost 2 games out of 3, much bigger clubs than us!
Fcuked over by the guy who 100% got rid of the scum and their shares as well as gaining the club we love promotion within 2 years of taking over and during a pandemic …….. good job I wear boxer shorts and not knickers I suppose
Indeed, as performing the task for everyone, every five minutes would be rather tiring for them, even if the board took it in turns. To be serious for a moment I'd rather the board just get on with making as much money for the football club as possible to support the manager without feeling the need to wank us all off every five minutes.
Why is the Critchmeister meeting fans tomorrow? Bloody ridiculous.
It starts with you but its that few minute convo, yes.My name's Freddy not Lee
Who give a toss if someone went to Fleetwood, in boycott years?Ha ha I like this comment.
Obviously to ask what team to pick.To be serious for a moment I'd rather the board just get on with making as much money for the football club as possible to support the manager without feeling the need to wank us all off every five minutes.
Why is the Critchmeister meeting fans tomorrow? Bloody ridiculous.
I've only skimmed through this thread, far too serious and spends too much time gazing into ones own naval for my liking. Each to their own though. How about a pre match hand job with someone whispering 'there there, it'll all be ok, we'll get a right back and Simms...'?
To be serious for a moment I'd rather the board just get on with making as much money for the football club as possible to support the manager without feeling the need to wank us all off every five minutes.

I still believe the other bid for the club would have been good for us but now Simon has it I’m more than happy to give him my supportYou've changed your tune. You didn't want Sadler. You were all over one of the other bids to buy the club weren't you?
I totally agree with all that BFCx3 has said so he's not being contrary.
On the other hand you've come across as someone who is extremely rude and extremely narrow minded.
Everything that is done externally from the club is shit. Yeah right. Embarrassing post.
His content is nauseating, who really needs a watch along on you tube ???? Why not just go to the matches and be a fan instead of posing as an amateur reporter??? Honestly, we don’t have a big enough fanbase for all this extra content. We don’t need the UTMP podcast either. I listened to the Alan Nixon interview they did a few weeks back and it was excruciating to listen to. It was too long and unedited and there was no structure to it. It’s like Fylde Coast Radio, it literally has 200 listeners. The internet and social media age has allowed complete amateurs to produce too much unnecessary content, which they then think is important!!You agreeing with him doesn't make him mainstream. I think it actually helps make my case, tbh.
I'm sorry if you think me rude, I just don't subscribe to the theory that everything LC says is right, and I have a lower opinion of his output than some other people do. I'm allowed to say so, just as much as he can come on here and tell me why he thinks I'm wrong. I doubt he cares what I think anyway.
Your last bit - it embarrasses you more than me. I never said it, in fact I went out of my way to praise td53 who writes great stuff, which is quirky, funny, imaginative and entertaining.
