Hi BST,

I’m just wondering when you’re going to release a statement, or have a meeting with the club, which condemns the chanting of “Tangerine, Tangerine, your mums a crack whore, your dads a queen” by the Fleetwood Town fans? Or, if you don’t want to use that chant, maybe the “Tony’s in a box” chant, from their supporters?

Can I have a reasonable answer as to why this hasn’t been addressed from the “Supporters Trust”? I have my reasoning why I believe it hasn’t been addressed, but I’d like to hear yours.

Thanks

Can you not bring it up with your friend who happens to part owner of The Armfield and is Chairperson of BST?
I bet you see him most days.

He’s bound to secrecy without liaising with the committee of the BST, unfortunately.

I do see him, often, to be fair. But without being provided with a pre-written statement ensuring it has the signed approval of Christine & TAM - he can’t say much.

these days where statements are getting thrown around like confetti you would assume BST would communicate their disgust at the Fleetwood chants, for me the Tony one was particularly disgusting.

If Christine or TAM don’t want to answer this, I’ll also accept reasoning from the moderator basilrobbie or Christine’s lover Whittaker.

How dare you assume that BST would stand up for their own fans, past and present.

What’s happened to prompt this then ?
I’m just wondering why they haven’t released a statement condemning it? They’re quick to release statements about Blackpool fans behaviours, threatening stand closures etc.

I just thought, you know, with them being the voice of the fans, they’d stand up for their fans and either condemn the chants themselves, or get the club to do it.

No you didn't. You thought, 'how can I get an easy dig in against BST.'

Just to clarify the position :

BST's next meeting with Julian Winter takes place next week, and we expect a range of supporter-led issues to be discussed.

If you want to bring matters such as this to our attention , the best way of doing so is to contact the Secretary, or, better still, send us an email to :

listening@blackpoolsupporterstrust.com

We can confirm that to date we have received NO emails regarding the Fleetwood game.

Nice of you to join us - Are you going to condemn the chants made from Fleetwood supporters, or not?

Ah right, I thought they’d made a statement or something.

Turn up at the meeting and find out.
Very protective aren’t you? Very protective of an organisation who are supposed to represent the supporters of Blackpool FC, but instead, just like the club, would rather threaten and scare their own fans and make statements saying their chanting isn’t acceptable, than condemn the chanting of numerous other clubs about Blackpool and its people.

Are you a member of BST?

If not, what's it to you what they do or don't do?
This is the exact reason I’m not.

Point blank refusal to condemn fleetwood fans behaviour. Don’t worry, if anything remotely bad is done by a Blackpool fan, they’ll harp on again about how the North stand is gunna get closed.

Scaremongering cowards.

The recent statement from Blackpool FC seems to just condemn ‘homophobic chanting’ generally as well as stating that they will cooperate with the Football Authorities and Police.

I’m not sure the Club has tried to threaten or scare anyone previously either have they?

They’ve just informed Fans of what has happened and made them aware as they are obliged to do.

Another big song and dance over nothing

Are non BST members invited? Asking for a friend

Any chance you can link us to a copy of the Minutes ?
In the wise words of BST.. They’re released by the club and may be inaccurate as they don’t get a say in what goes in the minute, numerous things will be missed, but it’s OK because the hierarchy know what’s going on.

Presumably Pilley's getting bummed.

BST issued minutes for their recent meeting, the Club only issues the Minutes for the Structured Dialogue Meetings, which are attended by all groups.

I assumed with you being such a stickler for that kind of thing, you’d be all over this…So was it a secret meeting then?

I’m not sure. But if it was, it’s nothing BST haven’t done previously, is it?

Not having a dig because obviously I have huge respect for MSG but how come the club via the SLO the club are denying this meeting ever happened?

Quite right, it's about time that every supporters group gave a written report on the behaviour of the supporters' of every team that Blackpool play.

It sounds like the SLO may have got his wires crossed ?
Sounds more like a MSG prank that’s backfired tbh.

If so I can’t see how it’ll encourage the club to start a regular and structured dialogue with them. If Julian Winter is trying to persuade Simon Sadler that he should, then I think his task just became a bit harder.

Not at all BFC*3. The Club got in touch with me regarding the MSG tweet and the responses it was getting. I tried to contact the MSG to get clarification about their tweet but they declined both my call and my request for them to call me back. In the event, the Club asked me to put out a brief reply disambiguating the situation, which I did.

All this prank has done is take the piss out of their own followers on X who thought it was true. Nobody else. Take a bow.

I suppose these are the problems of operating out of a pub. There is liquor there.

They should’ve got you to do the same regarding the tram at Fleetwood.

Protective? You say on one post that you're not stirring things and that you want to find out whether the BST Committee is going to condemn Fleetwood fans for their barracking at the recent match. In reply, I said that you'll find out if you attend the meeting. What am I supposed to be being protective of...common sense?

Sounds like the MSG have given you and the Club the runaround with this statement. A bit of a ruse on their part, by the looks of it.

I can’t imagine the Club are amused.

Isn't the bricking of a tram in Fleetwood a matter for the police?
Yep it is but as @SLO_BFC likes to educate fans and release comments on putting litter in bags, how to talk to catering staff during peak times and behaviour in our own ground I thought it would be good to support our own supporters and liase with them regarding them being subjected to an unprovoked attack on their journey home with Seasiders young and old present.

I find it quite amusing & it will have been just a piss take not homophobic in suggesting Pilley was having his piles rattled in prison. The stupid cretins who stoned a tram is something that Fleetwood Fc should be dealing with not us. It would appear someone is muck raking here & that hardly makes good for official recognition with the club or via the inclusivity of other fans groups which has been highlighted by BST.
I just hope there’s no serious trouble at Bolton today as I got fed up with that nonsense in the 70s & 80s & it’s the main reason I haven’t bothered going, also if it were to get to those levels again then I’d stop going altogether. I’ve got better things to do than put myself in a position where I’m tarred with the same brush as the idiots who think it’s ok & actually risk being assaulted in the name of ???
