Fiji Wales

Agree had he held on to that pass could have been curtains for Wales at the death.

To be honest FIji we’re very unlucky a perfectly good try ruled no try? 🤷‍♂️
Would have still needed to kick the conversion but he had a possible chance to run closer to the posts if he got around Rees-Zammit.

Never watched the Wales game but saw the SA v Scotland tackle that was absolutely identical in every way to the one made by the England lad yet only got the 10 mins. Disgraceful really. Neither warranted a red card IMO as there was no intent. Just hard tackling.

From what I've watched so far the officiating has dominated every game. It seems that every single action is under constant scrutiny and is killing the games as a spectacle.

We criticise VAR yet this seems worse. Rugby is meant to be a very hard sport yet we seem to have teams of officials hell bent on trying to have players removed from the pitch. Painful viewing. And as above there is zero consistency.

Another bent ref favouring the bigger nation

That's 2 today no consistency at all from the officials

No idea how that last try was ruled out even the video ref thought it was fine
Because his knee hit the floor. When that happens the tackle is deemed completed and you are only allowed to place the ball. He used the knee on the floor to propel himself forward, and then he placed it over the try line. Can't do that and that is why the try was disallowed.

Agree about infringement after infringement by Wales in the red zone and no card though. That was poor refereeing.....and then Fiji give away one penalty and its a yellow. Dreadful.

And as for the SA tackle that was exactly the same as the Curry tackle.........this WC could end up being ruined by inconsistent refereeing / TMO

The ref gave it and even the TMO couldn't see anything wrong and when you slow it down it's not convincing if it's a double movement or not

Harsh on Fiji I thought with several decisions

I thought is was a double movement tbh and the TMO was only asked to look at the grounding which will be why he didn't immediately pick it up. Carsley then noticed it during the replays which is what the technology is there for.

A big worry is the lack of consistency in decisions - if Currys by the letter of law was a red the law is wrong (or is being interpreted incorrectly) but how the hell did the SA not get a red against the Scots - which would have in all probability been a game changer of a decision.
