Fiorini / Lyons

Best mate is Tangerine so I get the whole 'Lyons is quality' all the time.

Didn't want to believe it to be honest. but think you've got a bit of a gem with him. Movement seems to be really good for a defender and anticipates where the ball is going to be which doesn't come a long often. Seems solid defensively too.

I have nightmares with the utter shite we have signed from Ireland (Graham Burke, Kevin O'Connor, Andy Boyle - shivers) so I didn't think Lyons would come good. Good spot.

Still will get rinsed by Alvaro on the 1st April though x
That was a good post till you fucked it up with that last para!😂

Liked this, then saw the last sentence so retracted it.

true that. Although i’m surprised at the 38% must admit thought we had the ball a lot more but like you say it’s what you do with that counts….
I’ve been banging that drum for the last couple of years. When Critchley was here and he along with certain posters on here ‘we had 73% possession’ yes but most of it was playing tippy tappy at the back. Last night we 1/3 of the possession but used really well and mostly in their half.

Bloody hell, don't tell PNE online, they'll shun you.

He does look good Lyons.

As for being rinsed by Alvero, it didn't happen at our place, CJ ran you around and we were super clinical, it was a fantastic day in the north stand, brilliant atmosphere, unusually hot in that sun but a great victory with an amazing ending.

All gone a bit wrong since a little after that.

Hopefully we're getting back to some sort of form.

We didn't turn up at deepdale last time, can't not turn up again.

Formation last night was:

3-1-4-2 CJ and Lyons were further forward and in line with Fiorini and Patino. Jerry and Morgan were a traditional front 2 and very central.

Fiorini dropped alongside Connolly when defending and Morgan dropped alongside Charlie too when fetching the ball. It was quite fluid at times.
Maybe the new manager in waiting set it up 😉

I'm totally chuffed that Andy Lyons is showing his predatory goal poaching. I posted before he arrived that he had been doing this for Shamrock Rovers all last season and is a terrific attacking full back. I compared him to Seamus Coleman and he's now showing what we saw of him in Dublin. Some full backs have a knack of getting into the box, but they have to be super fit to keep getting upfield. Chris Lawler used to do the same for Liverpool. I can't wait to see Andy develop with us. He's a gold nugget.

Most teams have good support away from home, at times, even the Nobbers but it's good to be recognised amongst the best. Home support is a completely different story, Blackpool still remain amongst the best but the Nobbers are dire, even their own fans slag their home support off! 😂

I must stop drinking before the game. I might quite get into all this stuff 😀

Frank O’Farrell, when he managed Man Utd, said that the sign of a great midfielder is how many times he gets in both boxes in a game.
Probably applies to full backs or wing backs in the current game.
At the time he was referring to Bryan Robson.
Lyons does remind me of Seamus
