He was culpable in too many goals against us last season because he was pathetic in the tackle/challenge.
I really can't see what part of a footy player people see in someone who is good a sprinting....

Its called pace and if you have it in your game especially over 2/3 yds that player has a massive advantage over his
opponent irrespective on how much ball skills said player may have. The people who identify with this are the Coaches.

Still some question marks over Thompson and maybe he will go Connolly centre half and Husband left back but at the moment Id be happy with your starting 11...the problem is there is no strength in depth and no back up plan...still 5 quality players short

To be fair in my 11 we still have Beesley, Carey, CJ, Casey, Gabriel and Connolly spare

I doubt Tharme, Casey, Beesley,Virtue , Dale and Holmes are good enough for a promotion challenge….we are still playing catch up from some awful recruitment in the last three windows
I think rather than a traditional front 2 it’ll be 1 up top with one in a ‘free role’. So far in the friendliest it’s generally been Dale or Apter playing off Lavery or Beesley. I think this is why Critchley suggested we weren’t particularly short up front, and I think Joseph was earmarked for that free role but if he’s injured I can see us bringing someone in on loan and potentially Dale being allowed to leave

My biggest question is where will the goals consistently come from?
Lava will score if chances are created for him but he'll need support. I'd have to see Joseph to get a proper view but he's still young anyway and I really wouldn't be putting my house on a 21year old to lead the line all season. We'll need physicality and height up there to. Can Beesley be fit and make an impact? I'd expect a PL loaner to come in but again that's inexperience and a risk.
Defence and midfield look very good on paper.

I think you’re bang on with that prediction if pre-season is anything to go by.
The Carey / Joseph role is one he loved to deploy Embleton in.
That too looks like his starting 11 to me also. The wing backs operate more like wingers in his formation as there’s 3 x cb and 2 x dm to cover.
Only change might be the next two signings pushing for a start but they’ll have had less pre season with us so might start on the bench.
