Think it's very important we get it to settle the players and management ! We more than have enough now within the squad to beat Burton and get off to a good start.
Just make sure we have Lyons Ekpiteta and Pennington across the back and Thompson on the bench.
 
It doesn't matter if we score first or not, as long as they don't go ahead in the 90th minute. If we do concede there's no need to panic. And even if God forbid we lose, there are another 45 games to put right whatever went wrong.

So people cannot have an opinion of a player. I thought this is what AVFTT was for?

Personally I think he's dreadful and I hope he doesn't play. I won't not have an opinion because it upsets a few happy clappers.
 
I can't remember the last time any Blackpool fans directly booed there own players and the forum is about opinions , most of the squad was woefully short last season but Appleton should never of been appointed hence Mansford losing his job but we now have a clean slate to work from so all the players deserve a chance to play their part and players who have been struggling for form being introduced on to the pitch when the game is won or we are playing the clock down.
Regarding Thompson I want him to succeed and if he slows his game down a bit and defends first and foremost then there could be a player as he is quick and athletic.
 
We are the shortest priced team on the coupon for our division so the bookies are expecting a convincing win....

He'll score a hat trick, clear two off the line, but misplace a throw in and he'll be shite. Minds are made up already and it takes a lot to get that back.

Ditto Critchley if it doesn't start well.

Connolly might be scoring that first goal as he did last season.
He is a good player and certainly better than Thompson at the moment.
Hubbie looked a lot more confident with Connolly protecting him

But Connolly is a RB,CB,HM not a LB.😂

Would prefer Thompson or Lyons at LB who have more pace and are better in a 3-5-2.👍
 
Knowing our luck and history, remembering the ""Homecoming", the fact that we're Blackpool and the apparent expectation that we're one of the favoured teams to vie for honours, wouldn't be surprised if Burton score the first goal and run out 0-2 winners in the day

Unfortunately you are bang on there Wiz.
 
Well we scored against Reading first last season in the 9th minute, and whilst we won the game, I actually think it unsettled the players and crowd more than if it had remained at 0-0!!

Yeah a bit like you I often feel going 1-0 up early doors (unless you can follow it up quickly with another) can often be a curse rather than a blessing (but I'd take it!!).
