FIRST INTERVIEW: MICK MCCARTHY | NEW BLACKPOOL HEAD COACH.

He just gives the impression that he knows what he's doing. A manager of his standing and experience wouldn't come to a club he felt had no hope of surviving. The last 48 hours have given me much more confidence of staying up, and just as importantly the board have shown they aren't happy to let us slide.

Bring on Saturday, can't wait now.

We've gone from a manager with very little championship experience, to one of the most experienced there is. A huge step up imo.

I will tell you what until I heard that I was dreading him.
He spoke better about us, himself and his coach better than all Applestrudels interviews put together.
Welcome MM ⚽🧡

A nice bit of talk about actually coaching, there's a novel idea. Hopefully looking at defending corners as well.

It's easy to approach the interview knowing what the fans want to hear, and to some extent MA did the same with his first interview. But hopefully this is a good appointment, as long as our 'flair' players don't get sidelined.

Jürgen who by the way? Klopp or Klinsman?

Agree that was good stuff from MM hope we play to our strengths and stuff udders

Can't wait for him to bench Yates, Bowler and Poveda 😉
I can't see him having many different options for Saturday even if anyone else comes in before then. It will just be a case of shuffling the pack.
I'd like to hope he's watched plenty of videos of our recent games and identified where changes are needed.
He certainly won't be able to pick a team of giants.

He said he watched the first half against Sunderland

Like many I wasn't crazy when his name popped up, but tbf I have never looked into him.

Loved the interview, always knew he was a character. He might just fit here, you never know.

Still questions to ask about the style of play but I'm confident the club must know how he will use the talents we have.

But with the fans onside, which seems to be the case, we will have our 12th man back and that alone might be the difference.

I liked what he said about Terry improving the strikers.

Plus hes no nonsense and you might get to see something like this....
