Have a listen, it's like a bad Blackpool at their ground at the moment!
Falls silent when they score. 'We're ** shit. I knew it'Have a listen, it's like a bad Blackpool at their ground at the moment!
"Leam Richardson’s side head to Highbury Stadium next month looking to continue their encouraging start to the season, and will be backed by 1,100 Latics fans. The Club will not receive further tickets for this fixture."Fair play to the lad for his videos.
Couple of things.
At the final whistle, it sounds like there were a few chanting "Grayson Out"
Also, why on earth do some fans chant so fast. Surprised they can breath its so quick.
The stated away support was 1,200. However, given that the capacity of the away end (the Percy Ronson Stand) is 1,200 which was full, and Wigan also packed out the far end of the main stand, it was clearly at least 1,500-1,600 if not more.
Lets stick to 'come on you pool'.Fleetwood haven't stolen songs from us.
Theyve stolen songs from Southampton, Liverpool, Crystal Palace amongst others.
Everywhere we go is a generic wanky song sung by 70% of EFL clubs.
Whoever gets battered is another generic song sang by a similar percentage.
None of the songs are Blackpool songs
That wasn't my point but ok.Lets stick to 'come on you pool'.
And Day trippers go homeThat wasn't my point but ok.
You could also sing tower power too of you want
There were plenty of that age group at Sheffield last Saturday.Fleetwood being one of our traditional catchment areas, you look at that end full of young lads and it makes you wonder if the boycott years have lost that age group forever. Fleetwood being on the up whilst we were boycotting allowed them to recoup their homegrown fan base (can't blame 'em for doing so).
Whilst we're back on the up now, and it looks like Fleetwood on the way down we'll claim our old catchment area back. I can't see many in that video after seeing Blackpool as a derby for so long come back to us, they'd probably either stay no matter how far the fall or support a top 6 club.
Fleetwood could be a decent National League side that flirts with League Two every now and again (a non-league West Brom), they've built an infrastructure for it. The fact they nearly got promoted to the Championship twice is mind blowing for a club their side.
Not denying we have supporters that age group, I just meant specifically from Fleetwood considering its traditionally been a catchment area for us. It's certainly not a pressing issue but just something I wondered when watching: "how many of them would have been Blackpool fans"There were plenty of that age group at Sheffield last Saturday.

He can sack him from his prison cell.It will be interesting to see how long Grayson survives if wins are hard to come by.
Remember that Pilley had no hesitation in sacking good Managers once on a poor run.
As a pedant, they'd got quite a long way before whelen came along. He bought them when they'd been in the league for 20-ish years and they had a real peak in the mid/late 80s as the 'next big thing' under irc Larry Lloyd. They were riding high in div 3 and I think got to FA Cup qf. I remember them being cited as the 'next Wimbledon' cos obvs they'd raced through the leagues around then.Strange fixture this.
Somewhere if I can locate my old programme collection I've got
Fleetwood vs Wigan 1974 or 75 Northern Premier League. Then came Whelan & Pilley.
Eh? It's been a thing for years and years and years. That was meant tongue in cheek, and was a dig at someone I know who hates 'come on you pool' as he believes it's a 'mushroom' song.
It is, but during the boycott the only songs sung seem to be ‘come on you pool’ and ‘sea sea seasiders ’.Eh? It's been a thing for years and years and years.
As in 'come on youuuuu pooooooooool (oooool)'
That's been a thing as long as I can remember, so early 90s at least.
The more jaunty 'come on the pool, come on the pool etc' is newer I think. Don't remember that from ye olde times. It's still a lot older that the boycott tho.
Isn't come on the pool taken from the Baddiel & Skinner football show? So a mid 90's chant I thinkEh? It's been a thing for years and years and years.

Could be. In my head I relate it to the new ground but I could be very wrong. I just don't remember singing it in the south paddock. Maybe we did.Isn't come on the pool taken from the Baddiel & Skinner football show? So a mid 90's chant I think
I seem to remember we did, late 90's.Could be. In my head I relate it to the new ground but I could be very wrong. I just don't remember singing it in the south paddock. Maybe we did.
