Fleetwood Video from 1980

Is this of the game v the Cods in 1980?

All I remember of that is Bally campaigning for a ground change to BR - and lots of Sunday league footballers from the North Fylde round me in the West Paddock on the day seemingly thinking it was hilarious Blackpool were in the lower divisions.

You’d have thought they were all Pele the way they went on…

If anyone finds it ? Could also look for Mike Davies goal v Nobbers at Deepdale.
Another bit of footage that appears to have been lost

Really frustrating as it has been posted on here before. Home video of the whole match.

Yes, definitely been on here or You Tube before MAC.

I just had a quick look on You Tube and couldn't find it.

I did manage to see us v QPR in the FA Cup (1982 not 1990) and that feckin equaliser by City in the FA Cup in 1988.

4-0 to us from memory? I was there aged 11. Hard to believe in this day and age but i went with my mate, no parents involved. We rode the back rail of the tram both ways from Bispham and cadged free tickets or ‘spares’ from the players

I was 15 and in the Scratching Shed that day with my mates...

It was heaving with plenty of nutters who had just turned out for that game.
I was in the Scratching Sheds too, a rare visit for me, but I think I turned up close to kick off and couldn't get into my usual West Paddock spot.

I was in the South…we all had big hopes for that season but Ball was a terrible manager for us..the inspector clouseau of football management..relegated at virtually every club he was at

It all started so positively with Bally...

I think the wheels started to come off following the 2-1 defeat to Donny in the FA cup. 😣

Also heard it said that losing Ted McDougall as his Assistant contributed to his demise.

10-11000 when we were otherwise getting 3-4000
Biggest home gate I saw until Citeh in 1984

We were getting 10,000 at the start of the season. I remember an Anglo Scottish game against Blackburn, two night games against Rotherham and Walsall and a Saturday against Portsmouth, and a League Cup game against Everton. Then slowly around October November crowds started to dip to 3/4000 level. Think after we beat Fleetwood we lost to Doncaster in Round 2, then it all went tits up.

We played in sky blue.

Correct. If I remember right we didn't have a third kit We were technically the away team and couldn't wear Tangerine or our white away kit as it clashed with Fleetwood's red and white. The blue kit we ended up wearing had no Blackpool badge or sponsor on it, I don't ever remember us wearing it again, must have been a one off from a crap sports shop on Waterloo Rod or something . I was in the Scratching Shed that day. There is a video somewhere, I don't think it has any commentary . Try youtube.

We won our opening game at Swindon and expectations were high. The following game against Rotherham we managed 10K but it went downhill rapidly with poor results. Remember Chesterfield thumping us 3-0 at home a few games or so later.
As mentioned, crowds dwindled and apart from some bumper away crowds like Sheffield clubs and Barnsley, attendances were poor.
Seem to remember a night match against a Sheffield United side with 2 Argentinian WC winners from 78.

Yes I remember that, also Cods manager around the time was Brian Wilson, ( a scot who played for aberdeen?) who was married to my best mates sister & he was living in LA (I stayed with them a few weeks before the game) Brian came back for the game, but left permanently soon after.
I was also in "the shed" at the south end that day, & my memory only extends to the pale Blue kit & the 4 nil scoreline. I was 18 at the time..

One of them was Alex Sabella who had a great game that night

I remember that game but for all the wrong reasons
Me and my mate got a bollocking from our boss on the day before the match, went in on Saturday (7am - 3pm shift)
took the boss a brew as usual and asked if I could finish at 12 to go to the match
He didn’t even look up at me and simply said “no”. I was gutted and then even more so when I saw the result.

Brian McManus not Wilson.

No chance of any of those existing. They were the kind of cheap kit you'd wear for your school or Sunday morning pub team. I can see someone from the club nipping down to Latusports or wherever on Saturday morning saying, yeah twelve of those will do, can you drop them off for half two, we'll pay you later!!!

I remember being told that the person who was the driving force and a really good coach was McDougal and we went to pot when he left to concentrate on his sports business down south
