Fleetwood

12 academy graduates have played in the first team this year! Poolfoot starting to pay off for them now. We are way behind them in some ways, thanks to you know who

Great news for Fleetwood and obviously a model to follow for us. I’m sure Simon is well ahead with his thinking and past appointments in helping to make this happen……. can’t wait for our new training ground 👍🏼😀

We are behind them in very few ways tbh
I thank God that I'm a Blackpool supporter and not a Fleetwood supporter.

Ok but bottom line is who are the Championship club and who are the league one strugglers who have hit their ceiling?

I've no real personal interest, but for those who I know who watch Fleetwood, I hope they stay up. I can't see how they can progress much further with the catchment they have though.

New indoor dome to be built at poolfoot as well soon to raise their academy status. People who snipe at them on here for being a rich mans plaything have to realise they are going down the road of being a modern day Crewe to be self sustaining with younger players and good academy facilities. I dont see anything wrong with that.

Remember when Belokon came on board and there was talk about a Latvian feeder club.

The article also states that Pilley is planning to purchase more clubs.

12 academy graduates have played because they've been under a transfer embargo.

19th in League One with roughly 2000 home fans, 2 of their stands don't even cover the full side of the pitch they're on & they have a sports bar in the corner of their stadium.

I'm extremely envious.

Bet they’re all in countries that have nice weather 🌞😀😀

Add on over 18 million in debt with a year on year operating loss, an owner in court for money laundering and fraud, a ground they don't own but hey they've got some youth players whoopy fuckin do.

Are you on about Jim's Bar? Thats hardly in the corner of the stadium (hardly a stadium by the way). Ive a pal who is a Codhead and said the Kids are Allright. When we get our new Training Ground the Cods will look on us with envy.

Tin pot team, end of. It isn't self sustaining at all. In fact quite the opposite. Its a small town with a glorified pub team propped up by one persons money.

I suspect this may be a way of getting around the work permit rules. I know big I.T. companies benefit from this by not being subject to the same rules compared to if an external individual was trying applying apply to work in the UK themselves. They are called Intra-company visas.

Wow Fleetwood have bought a couple of very small clubs even by the standards of the footballing minnow leagues in South Africa and UAE ‘cos they have the word ‘Fleetwood’ in their names😂 What a pointless exercise!

They haven't actually "bought" a club in the UAE - they've set up Fleetwood United in Dubai in a brand new 3rd division that hasn't even started yet. They formed last week and played their first friendly yesterday. Not quite sure what the standard is going to be in the UAE 3rd division. There must be some financial/trading benefit for Pilley to it.

Mighty Blackpool of Sierra Leone named after us.

You'd think Fleetwood would have set up a team in Grand Bahama, capital Freeport, as that used to be their name and still is on the deeds for the ground.
