Football is all about winning trophies

I'm sure like me you've had plenty of people down the years snigger when you've revealed who your support.

Well, you will do well to remind these people that football is ALL about reaching finals and winning trophies.

How many finals have Everton, Villa, Spurs, Sunderland and Leeds been in in the last 30 years let alone won those finals? (All clubs who's fans I've meet that have laughed at me).

Let's compare to Blackpool shall we? 10 finals in 30 years winning 8 of those.

So you can stick your so called big-clubs that do nothing year and on year living in the past, mediocre, let's celebrate a 6th place Prem finish nonsense.

I wouldn't change our club for the World and I'm sure they wouldn't either but honestly the jokes on them.

Travelled alone on Sunday and so was interesting getting the tube - obviously lots of Spurs and Arsenal fans on their and a smattering of other football shirts.

Most didn’t know we were in the Play Off final and still their only reference point was Ian Holloway! I feel sorry for Prem fans who only look out for half a dozen results each week.

Similiarly, in a way I feel a bit sorry for Burnley fans - I know a few who say relegation wouldn’t be the worst thing ever as at least they’d start winning more than they lose and ‘have a purpose!’

Burnleh do have a purpose though, it's to keep the business model working, the same tedious purpose all lower table PL clubs have these days.

Leeds? It wasn't that long ago Cheltenham did the double over us and a seaside town (think it was Morecambe) beat us 5-0 a few years back.

I always think of Forest. Been in the same league doing nothing ever since we beat them in the playoffs. We've been to Wembley 4 times since then. Won 3 lost 1.

You’re absolutely right. You can only win the things you can win... realistically.
Our trophy cabinet is bulging compared to virtually any club in England bar the usual suspects and a select few other lower league teams. As you say 8 trophies is absolutely fantastic. All but one achieved in spite of the worst owners in football.
I hope we have an open day where we can get photos with all of them.
