What is this crap ? So you look at some weird Italian based website and stick this rubbish on here.
Why is it rubbish ? You are another one that just wants to stick his fingers in his ears LALALALALALA i cant hear you. Take a look around the word, there dozens of countries protesting about the way things are going.

Whereabouts in France did you live? Was the weather noticeably better.
Shandy, we lived in small village called Rougnac in The Charente (12 miles from the Dordogne). nearest big town is Angouleme (16 miles).
Weather was OK, still got snow etc. our drive sloped up to the road so had to sand it a few times in Winter.
In Summer we had 40 degrees+ at times. Closed all the shutters and doors. And sweated. Made quite a few good friends.
Been back a few times since to visit them.
3 families of our best friends have since returned to the UK. I think it's the fear of dying in France. 😉

Stayed in an old Chateau winery on the outskirts of Bergerac for a week in 2019. Slow, peaceful, warm and relaxing. We walked daily into Bergerac and ate in the old town, sat out on the cobbles, looking down to the dordogne. I remember looking at the view whilst eating a wonderful evening meal and saying to my wife, 'why do we want to break away from all of this?' Madness.

I've eaten many a time in the old town, magic place. If it was in the UK it would be full of Chinese taking selfies, but there are literally hundreds of medieval towns like that in France. Like Davepick, we loved it there but it was becoming too hot for our ageing bodies to cope with.I do have to say that many of our French acquaintances took it almost personally that the Uk voted to leave the EU, and there was some antsgonism from shop assistants etc e.g. if making a complaint about something we were told more than once to eff off back to England. Such a shame.

When I go to Europe on holiday I make sure that I take my blue t-shirt with the circle of stars that says (in the middle), 'don't blame me, I voted Remain.'

The original post is from Radio Genova which seems to be a twitter based far right operation ( background and objectives unexplained) with fascist sympathies. So posts videos of eg demos in countries like France, Holland , Germany and makes out/gets pleasure out of possibility of these countries falling apart. It has little journalistic content and comments on its tweets are not permitted.
Supports horrors like Bolsonaro in Brazil, Hungarian leadership, Serbian demos against gay pride , including threats of violence, mass deporting of migrants in Italy. Anti - vax , Covid restrictions.
The photo of the demo in France is a recent one in Paris by the gilets jaunes , not exactly a mass movement as it stands , Macron recently re elected anyway
Im sad that anyone on this site gets off/ gets their news from a propaganda outlet like this.

Do French senior citizens and ex pat Britons get free prescriptions Dave or do they have to pay?

Trammo, they have to pay, but as I remember, we had insurance etc which more or less covered it.
MrsDP just reminded me (old age memory) we had what is called a 'Carte Vitale' which did the payments etc.

It’s a wonderful country, I did a few months in a place called Houlgate in Normandy which was lovely but felt like the UK weather wise.

After that I went to Argeles-sur-mer on the south coast near the Spanish border and it was like a different country, very warm and the people noticeably different, it used to be Catalonia. I’d definitely recommend that little corner of the world, it’s more chilled than the riviera side.
