Fuck this.

Let’s get a manager with a bit of passion. As much as Critchley milked the fans, at least we felt something. I feel nothing at the minute.

Appleton is boring and emotionless.

“He plays exiting football” I hear you say.

That exciting football is going to get us relegated.
Exciting????!!!! Who in there right mind says were exciting. It’s passive, boring, bollocks that’s what it is. Players look lost, literally no confidence even after putting in a decent run together. Any team that faces us must be locking there lips as they will know we won’t put any pressure on them. Appleton needs to go and quick.

I pretty much wrote the same thing in another thread as you wrote the OP-

Holding on for 3 points, then 1 point, a tired team in poor form.....and Appleton has his hands in his pockets.
No energy, no geeing up the players, no tactical tweaks...nothing. Does he think he's some sort of intimidating hard man perhaps? That players are going to look over and see him silent and scowling and try harder? Genuinely at a loss to what he thinks he's playing at. Not every manager has to be as animated or passionate as a Pep Guardiola type...but if you're not going to do ANYTHING...don't turn up to the match.

Unless I've missed something, he's waited til the 89th minute when we're 2-1 down to make a sub?!?!?!

Yes, he's got limited resources, Yes, we're punching above our weight, but I don't see a football manager in Appleton. Only hope Sadler moves early and brings in a proper coach to try and get us at least to a semblance of a tactical plan. Players and away fans gave everything today. He let us down. Shit!

Not saying you’ve said that, I’m saying who in general says that nonsense. I have read it on this season. Also people are saying we play better Football now than under Critchley…..sour grapes and absolute bollocks. Critchleys team had heart, Apples hasn’t

If you get a player sent off in the early stages away from home what can you expect . Can Appleton be blamed for Marv’s sending off it was another silly challenge .
No but he can be blamed for not making any substitutions or EVER coach the team to keep a lead or see a game out. A bit of sideline passion and instruction would appear to be the minimum.

You ever see any top top coach on the touchline with hands in pockets saying and doing nothing? No. They are like a 12th player giving it full beans screaming and organizing their team and in the refs ear.

Nothing is going for us. He is too wedded to his 4-3-3 system though even when we haven’t got the players for it.
I think we are more than likely to go down as things stand, but what type of manager could we expect if he did leave now?

3 ‘must win’ games straight after the WC. Brum, Taffs, and Hull.
I’m all for giving MA a chance but we need results quickly otherwise it will be money down the drain developing the ground if we end up in league 1 .

100%. There is no emotion apart from one or two. Jerry being the main exception. Where would we be without him this season and I hope to Christ we don’t sell him in January and if we do I hope we properly invest the profits unlike we did with Bowler.

Yes, exiting the Championship via the trap door.

I’m usually a patient sort but it’s just not looking good, We shouldn’t have gone backwards and appointed another ex manager with no real proven success 😬
Like you, Lala, I don't like to lump on the sack Appleton threads but I think he is now living on borrowed time. There does not seem to be any sense that he knows how to get out of this mess, and that should be the mark of a good manager - how to get results despite injuries etc.

Chizzy was sat directly in front of SS & BM today, it'll be interesting to see if they form the same opinion as most on this thread.
If MA was to leave (doubtful with a Spain training camp booked) who with a decent track record is available to take the job?
At times being a Seasider is brilliant, but having listened to Wigan fans singing about us getting battered etc - tonight it's depressing 😭

Yes but I honestly believe we would have won with even the depleted squad if we had avoided a red card

I’ve not called for a sacking, but today MA was a rabbit in the headlights. Seemed to have multiple players getting ready and 3 man coaching discussions that went on forever.

At any level, a coach cannot expect the same 10 players to do a job for 75 mins, when the opposition is throwing on fresh legs. For the winner, Carey was out on his feet, couldn’t win the challenge.

Gaz played well first half, hurt his back and we needed an outlet. For me Theo would have been a better outlet, pace and strength and decent in the air. Not a perfect fit, but in that situation it called for the manager to think on his feet.

I think this is fair criticism

He doesn’t play exciting football though. It’s generally speaking dog shit. The ‘Blackpool way’ thing is another urban myth we have been peddled.

He does according to some sources on here.

The other argument is the injuries list…

Well, if it’s that bad then we just park the bus and don’t play 4-3-3 to go out and win it.

I would generally agree with never go back but I seem to remember limited options at the time .
