Gardening advice: Are these violets?

So it’s my first summer gardening solo, usually I just get in the way of other people, and I’m a bit clueless. Are these violets? Gonna take em out today and read that you can make jam with violets

Wild ones. Will take over if not removed. Not sure about jam.

Thanks mate that’s all I needed to know. This gardens been in disrepair for years so I assume this is as big as the army gets.

The purple things are violets and the wide jaggy leaves are nettles

My wife's umming & arring but she says that there are apps where you can take a photo and they will tell you what it is.

Both very similar but the leaves on violets don’t have ‘crinkle cut’ edges.
