Listened to a podcast with him last year to try to back-fill his time here. Think he was still in firefighting for the Venky's mode like he had been at Blackburn. It's a job and just got on with it and shut everything else out. Focused on the nice people around him in the club and tried to be a leader for them. But you could tell as soon as the momentum shifted towards having achieved something and he started to ask for things that there was a limited shelf-life. Which was no surprise really, thankless task.

Left with his head held high but I bet it's made him more cynical for the experience now. And probably water off a ducks back when Gary Neville doesn't like drawing a home game and demands a board meeting.
 
I liked him very much so ( was that him who kept saying that- think so- very much so)
Anyway he got us up so at least we didn’t have to wait another year to get in LG 1 when “they “ got ousted, couldn’t care less about promotion at the time as most of us didn’t care due to the circumstances but worked out well in the end- very much so
