I lived in Ascot for a while, and he wasn’t popular with the locals who regarded him as arrogant and not very pleasant. Now I don’t know him and never met him, so I can’t comment personally.

I think Lineker is a very good presenter who is clearly more intelligent than the average footballer. He speaks fluent Spanish unlike Ian Rush who said going to juventus was like being in a foreign country.
