Gary Madine scored for Hartlepool v Fylde last night.

Came on in the 87th minute
Scored in the 88th minute

.....got booked in the 93rd minute..!!
Just wondering whether there was anyone there at the game with BFC connections? And, if so, whether they also managed to put together a written account of proceedings? Can't wait to see the minutes...

Sully Kaikai also scored a last minute goal for Cambridge to earn a point against Noblot. 👍

Cambridge played pretty much all of the second half with just 10 men as well. 😯

Pools forward Gary Madine scored his first goal since December 2022 on Tuesday night, nearly two years ago.

It’s been a rocky road since that afternoon where Madine, playing for Blackpool, found the back of the net against Cardiff City in the Championship.

In March 2023, Madine suffered a serious ACL injury against Bristol City that would rule him out for 18 months.

He returned to the North East and signed for Pools, making his debut in late August against Braintree Town.

And, 23 months on from his last goal, Madine got on the scoresheet on Tuesday night in a 2-0 home win over Fylde.

After being subbed on in the 86th minute, he fired home a rebound in the 88th to score his first goal in the blue and white.

“I could’ve cried,” Madine admitted at full time.

“It’s been a long journey with a lot of hard work. There’s been people along the way that have doubted me, I’d like to think that moment proved them wrong.

“I’ve been desperate to score for this club. The lads have been superb with me and I love coming in everyday.

“I’m not the complete package yet. There’s still a lot more to come from me and I can’t wait to kick on from here.”

Looked offside

I'd remortgage the house, the car, the cat and the family for one more Gary Goal.

I don't know where you get the 'superfan' idea from.

Makes me seem like a bit of weirdo tbh. 🤣
You are a weirdo if you think you can remortgage the cat unless it’s one of those really special breeds from Indonesia that’s got fur bigger than our player budget
Anyway I’m allergic to them so im a bit biased but on my many hospital visits recently when they ask if I’m allergic to anything I say cats I also do the same in restaurants, i always find it amusing but they always look at me as if to say you massive idiot (or massive ** in a lot of cases)

My cat is a bit like Gary. (He is called Gary for one) - he is a fancy pedigree but because he had serious health issues (hopefully now solved) he was dumped and I got him from a rescue centre (signed him on a free) and he's a lovely big lad who has a heart of gold but occaisonally has a mad episode. He thinks he's gorgeous and if cats did sunbeds, he'd without doubt be on one.

To be honest, I never thought I'd own a pedigree cat - never buy animals when there's thousands that get dumped and I love a moggie with a missing ear or wonky colouring but he's ** ace. Definitely like Gary, whoever paid a load of money for him and then gave up on him didn't get the best of him.

I used to be allergic to cats but if had them for years and seemingly become completely immune to whatever thing about them used to make my eyes go red and all that.
