Gatwick parking

Anyone on here driven to Gatwick North terminal and used the long stay car park?
Booked train, but strike planned for 30th as put a spanner in the works.
Your main issue is not the car parking, that's well organised.
Leave enough time to get around the M25 and down the M23 (as well as M6 & M1 or M40).
If going the night before, the airport hotels all do stay-and-park bundles, using their courtesy coaches to get to the terminal - we tend to take that option to remove the stress of traffic jams on the day. Good luck.

We are travelling down on Saturday,so should be a little lighter with traffic.
Normally a shrinking violet but sometimes have to man up and go for it.

It costs a fortune. About 150 for a week. I'd park in a small town near the airport in a residential and get a taxi from there. Much cheaper, but more mucking around. There are some small firms do it in unofficial parking sites near airport but I'd research them first. Some cowboys.

Decided on long stay car park, kept key and bus a short ride to terminal and prem inn.
Pretty easy to be honest just have to up the self belief.👍
Great win for Blackpool today, sadly absent for Tuesday but will be getting regular updates from Lipari.

My only advice would be to avoid Luton Airport.

Drop off costs you £5 for 10 minutes and £1 per minute thereafter. Naturally that means the authorities ensure several of the barriers are coned off making it even more difficult to exit. Cue lots of tooting of horns by frustrated drivers. At the barrier it’s not contactless as advertised so you insert card to exit - another 30 seconds per vehicle. Cue more tooting of horns by frustrated drivers. Cost for drop off £8.

Pick up requires a degree in logistics to time your arrival at the same time as the passengers clear passport control, collect their bags and exit the terminal (really that means you drive around Luton looking for somewhere to park up while you wait for the phone call). Alternatively you park up in a car park ……..only to find the payment machine swallows your ticket and…….you’re kept waiting at the barrier for 10 minutes doing what you’ve been told to do whilst trying to exit. The …….are all the boring bits I can’t be bothered to tell you about.

I would travel several days before just to make sure - Boris Transport is at its absolute height and pits.

This has driven every9ne back on the roads and I
getting in 2nd gear before 8am was done pre-Covid - the whole place (SE Eng) is knackered

1 mile an hour waould be an achievement
