Considering how even an opening day home win has people telling us we were lucky and Reading completely outplayed us 2nd half - despite them only creating 1 decent chance and us having better ones in this period, I just thought I would remind people of how Saturday will go.
Swansea the possession kings of the Championship are here. So be prepared for lots of sidewards and backwards passing and never being able to tell their goalie “you’re shittt aaaah” as he’ll never kick it long. They’ll try and football bore us. So this can be a tough watch.
We really need to ditch these dark clouds over the Head Coach & looking for problems. He’s on a 4 year deal and to quote a well known phrase from 2020 “we’re stuck with him” - @Philbfctrois
Appleton should be getting our full support in that ground because the team need it. He’s spoke well and is seemingly shipping out players we all thought aren’t up to it. Keogh is a blow as he’s a great voice and leader in the dressing room but that’s football and he’s got a 2 year deal closer to home.
The recruitment team is having a wobble, but that’s not Appleton’s fault. If anything it should make us want to get behind him more.
If 4-3-3 flops on its arse after 10-15 games then that’s fair to have a go, but moaning like fuck when we’re won 1 out of 2 and lost in a Cup we always lose in is just coming across as Verucca Salt esque. We ended the season terribly last year, we’re changing the system, we’re changing players and our home form is going to crucial as away from home doing the above is going to be difficult to establish any rhythm. We can play a big part in this.
Last season the fans got us over the line in loads of home games. Reading was a bit flat, it’s time to get back at it, boiling hot day, plenty of liquid refreshments to help you through it and backing the team as we always do.
I’m not going full Delia Smith but the positivity needs to come back. We can help create that.
