Getting a passport urgently.

Been offered a job but in summary I don’t have a passport, which my new employers are asking for a passport and it takes 10 weeks!

Any hacks are short cut around getting one?
 
Think there is a fast track postal service with a 1 week turnaround if you are renewing an out of date one but it will cost. If you have never had one before then best to phone up the passport office for advice. They may be able to speed things up if you explain you will miss out on a job offer without it.
A few years ago I went to the passport office in Liverpool to a pre-booked appointment and got a new one the same day, so it can be done.

When I lived in the south I went to the passport office in London and after submitting my documents, I had to wait two hours for the passport. I think I had to make an appointment. I don’t know if that’s still an option though.
 
I took my son to Liverpool passport office and got it done for him. About 150 quid. Online forms first. Took about 10 mins in Liverpool.
 
Premium passport service had to fly to belfast for mine as no appointments available in england got passport in 10 mins cost 200 pound had to go on premium passport appintments everyday till they put apps up

Passport Office have been working to rule and appointments are thin at best. Don't turn up on spec.
 
Get your photo done in a booth. Link it to the application. Do it online. Send your old passport back to the address they list.
Took less than a week for my application to go through to receiving new one.
