I'm up from South Wales for the 6pointer on good Friday....hoping to have a game of golf on the sat to blow the hangover away and wanted recommendations. I'd love to play Royal Lytham or St annes old links...but I'd say they may be too expensive. I'll have the car so doesn't have to be in Blackpool itself..... GO! Thanks in advance!

Depends what you want really. You can pay for any of the members clubs at Fleetwood, Blackpool North Shore, Knott End, St Annes Old Links, Green Drive and Fairhaven.

You can also walk on at Staining Golf Club which is a straight forward municipal.

I I wouldn't mind one game on a links and one on a more parklandy course...so possibly fairhaven...and what would be the best links in your opinion?

Make the most of Stanley Park before there's another attempt to close it. Mackenzie design.
Wouldn't bother at the minute.

The contractors are doing their best to drive the members out by doing next to nothing on the course.
A video was released on March 4th on YouTube copies also sent to the contractors and the council.
Surprise Surprise the entrance that has been severely damaged for over 18 months has now been re built

Check out SPGC Ltd running down the course on YouTube ( I'm not that good at links)

If you've just won the Euro millions then I'd suggest Royal Lytham and St Annes.
It isn't an Open venue for nothing.

Apart from that, as has already been said, a lot of clubs have competitions over the weekend.
You'll also have to take into account the bad weather we've had over the last couple of weeks.
I'm lead to believe that a number of courses have been closed because of the adverse rain we've had, Stanley Park (no surprises there) DeVere, Green Drive and even StAnnes old links have been shut.

It's your choice to be honest, as a recommendation from one person for a superior course is another person's bland characterless open field.

Wherever you end up, enjoy your round👍🏻

Old Links shut?, has there been an alien invasion, (I used to be a member) & the only thing to shut Old Links is a decree from God himself... I have played in snow, even when the greens were frozen solid....

Was at DeVere driving range talking to a lad last week who had an interview there for membership and he told me it had been shut.
Maybe God was pissed off with the weather too🤷
