As I said the other day my youngest lad has started playing golf and is keen. He is 20 though and has never played before so is looking for lessons.

Do you lads have any recommendations as to a good golf coach who preferably doesn’t charge a fortune?

thanks in advance

None of them come cheep Andy, but the guy at Teetime Golf is quite reasonable so I’m lead to believe.

My old mate Tony Johnstone does lessons at Staining. He was doing group lessons but not sure now. He's a page on Facebook called The Swing Studio so worth a look.

Andy Swallow at Lytham Golf Academy still does starter lessons I think.

Dave Corsby, 07766733383, top lad, local guy, used to be one of the pros at fleetwood, think he’s now at myerscough , not cheap, but very good👍

No offence Blood but why are you always asking for things on the cheap?
You wouldn't have done it in your career so why should others just pay the going rate.

I did it it with my son with golf lessons and I hate golf and I least I know they paid tax on the money and not stuck it in their back pocket. 👍

What are you on about. I ain’t looking for things on the cheap.....it’s for my son. Plus which wtf does it have to do with you?

Played a lot when I was a kid and got my handicap down to 9 when I was 15, tried taking it back up 10 years ago at fleetwood which is a very tough course. Frustrating game to say the least. Without a pro lesson and just on the driving range I’ve always tried to remember the following rules,
Keep your head down and watch the ball
Don’t try and knock it into next week
Back swing ‘low and slow’
accelerate through the ball
Don’t give up after a bad day....
It can be a great sport to play but can take years and years to be any good so stick with it

Andrew richardson used to be head pro at north shore now freelance, great bloke and very reasonabl;e.
