Good Enough to Stay Up

Better organised and set up, rumour is 3 still to come according to some on here. If Husband is out now then
left footed CB is a must, another strong MF. But yes definately stay up.

A great effort today. Mick & Terry have got morale & commitment sorted.
With Curtis Nelson now signed, that's the defence sorted. I hope Hubby hasn't picked up another hammy or we may need to replace him 😢
We still need a forward playing, creative midfielder (who can take a decent set piece), as we didn't create enough chances today & the forwards have fed off scraps.

Our goal was a bit worrying. Yates played it across and it didn't look like anything would happen. Luckily Patino took it by the horns.

Poor defending for their first free kick goal. Poveda horrendous decision making with the 1 on 1. Husband could be a big loss but at least still a couple of the days of transfer window To try and get more in.
After we scored, there was only 1 team in it…unfortunately that old chestnut “ just lacked that bit of quality in the final third” was evident again.
Overall though, with Udders losing, the fight is well and truly on .

Added: Curtis Nelson defender deal just been confirmed. Can we find a striker in the next couple of days?

This 100%. If we stick with that XI, playing that formation, we have more than enough. Come on MM.
Think the opposite. We looked completely lost playing that formation with gaps all over the pitch and nothing going forward. It was a flat back at times with CJ at left back which was a contributing factor in their first goal. Once we pushed up and stop playing so negatively, we gave them a match although the damage had been done.

Play that formation with CJ at wing back in the league and it’s a toss up who finishes bottom; us or Wigan.

There's already a 5,6,7 point gap between us and the teams just outside the relegation places. Other teams will have something to aim for in the second half of the season and up their game by at least 10%. That's why we needed the points in the first half of the season like under Critchley.
It's going to be difficult but not (yet) beyond us to survive.

Still a touch of the Appleton's at times, but I'm sure Mick will solidify us further and cut out some of the silly mistakes. We can go into the next game with plenty of confidence after a decent second half in particular... An addition or two, players to get fully fit and also get used to the system.....I think we're looking good to be firing ready for the important games.

If Mick wants to play that formation, he either needs to play Thompson or buy a wing back. Hated the formation and we looked like lost sheep but at least Mick saw some positives when we actually tried to attack them.

We're good enough to stay up, poor enough to go down.
No team has a divine right to be safe; we have to earn Championship status and, at the moment, our form is among the worst in the Division
Be interesting to see how the Forum reacts next weekend, should we get thumped.
Conversely, a point or better, will have the more positive on here suggesting playoffs.
Still think we'll have to pull a couple of rabbits out of the hat to avoid the drop

The mess left by MA may just be to much to pull back. If any manager can then Mick M as a good a chance as any. In Mick we trust

I think the real test comes at the end of Feb - if we can be on level points with a few teams around us by then, we should have enough quality to get through. These next few days are a bit like an experienced pilot being asked to take control of a plane nose diving to earth without knowing which control is what!! Can he work it out before we crash and burn!

Interesting use of phrase 'Good enough to stay up'. I think there's been a few times I've felt that and it's not happened. The McMahon relegation springs to mind but I suppose the biggest one was the Holloway relegation. Still irks me we went down that season and I think it would annoy me if we went down this season because this squad should be about two thirds of the way down but not bottom three.
I did worry by the time it came to Boro that we might be stranded but I suppose you forget that teams at the bottom don't ever make headway in the way the ones at the top do.
Two big things are our next win and climbing out of the bottom 3 before we get to Game 36. I always think with 10 games to go if you're bottom 3 then chances are that's you gone.
