Ran it in 2019 and it really is a fantastic day.

Until I got overtaken by a guy running in bare feet at mile 16 and the Incredible Hulk at mile 21!!

Good luck to anyone doing it and make sure you take the whole experience in.

Never done a marathon and never will with my knees, but used to love cross country running. I once did a charity fancy dress pram race in Ilkley with two other blokes and we took a wrong turning whilst in the lead, poorly marked course. We'd gone down a rather steep hill before realising, and had to turn around and get back up on the course. We came second, unfortunately from last, beating a women's team.
