Ground you've been to most away from BR

prob Brentford for me as used to live in Chiswick and Acton and always seemed to be playing them

Probably Bolton or Burnley, they seemed to follow us down the leagues in the doldrum years, closely followed by Dumpdale.

Preston definitely. Watched Blackpool at home then alternated and watched Preston at home when Blackpool away as my cousin lived in Preston. When we were young in the 60,s

To be honest not a clue...if you exclude watching the Mighty then probably Everton and Liverpool from my university days ( when it wasn’t that expensive...it is exactly 50 years ago from my graduation😳😳😳😳😳)and in fairness top class football including European ties.
Most likely would be between Preston,Bolton,Blackburn and Burnley for obvious reasons given how long I have followed the ‘Pool.

I was on a ship in Dry Dock in Melbourne in 1986 and watched a game at the Olympic Stadium between Sydney Olympic and South Melbourne.

One team had a large Greek support base and the other had a large Italian fan base …….. the game was held up for 20 minutes while the fans had a punch up in the main stand !
That's what makes coming on here worthwhile. Great story.

Preston. Then probably Barnsley (when I lived in Leeds for 10 years we seemed to always be in the same division). Donny and Huddersfield quite a lot too and Burnley; seems like we were always there.

Liverpool, was born there and used to go and watch Them even when moved to Blackpool. Was only because it took up so much of a Saturday that I fell in to watching the pool at school.

As a young kid living in Yorkshire (1960s) my grandad took me to Huddersfield home games, and Sheffield wed or Barnsley when hudders were away. Since living in South London(1980) I used to take my lad to Charlton (late 90s) to stress the importance of supporting your local team. That lasted a while but once I brought him up to Blackpool for a Charlton game, I was at the back of the North and he was in the gene kelly, 5 2 to us , he was won over. Ultimately shared the 2010 Wembley experience together. Glad he's a seasider without me forcing it down him.

Lancashire grounds aside, it would have to be ‘ Lluis Sitjar’ Real Mallorca‘s original ground in the 80’s where we lived for 10 years, until moving to their new ground Son Moix in1999,which is a bit crap with its all purpose athletic track surrounding the pitch.

For me it goes back in phases-which is something that has been mentioned on here.
Oldham and Barnsley were regulars for me in the 80s (saw Billy Ronson play for the latter) with Blackburn and Burnley too.

Been to ManU about 30 times too including junior and reserve matches.

Leaving aside watching Aylesbury United, my hometown non-league club, it would be the Manor Ground. I spent a few years as a kid watching Oxford as it was the closest league to me growing up and my dad would take me so I could watch some football in-between trips up to Blackpool. Enjoyed it but it was always just a stop gap to tide me over.

Selhurst Park when I was working in South London 83/84, sometimes paid or crept in for the last 20 mins when the gates opened.

Used to go and watch Bayern Munich a lot when they played in the Olympiastadion and then when they moved to the Allianz Arena where they ground shared with 1860. 1860 have now moved back to their old Gruenwalder Stadion and trying to get tickets for Bayern home games is very difficult.

Probably Dumpdale but I went to a lot of games at the old Arsenal Highbury stadium when I worked in London in 70s and 80s.

I have been to Chorley. But not for a while. I saw them on tv last season. The ground has barely ever changed. A tiny stand. Grass banking sectioned off.

I used to love the Old Rugby Park. It was awesome. My dads best friend had the concrete contract for the New Rugby Park.
Used to like the old rugby, went there with queen of the south once and about 80 of us invaded the pitch at half time but kilmarnock wouldn't come and play shitebags.
On the way back to station we got surrounded by what must have been every copper in kilmarnock 🙂lifted a few and escorted the rest of us back to the station, the good old days 😁

Other than Wembley (😉), which ground would you say you have been to most?

For me, it's probably Old Trafford just because we have a work box there and use it a couple of times a season.
T'Rovers.
Went to school in Blackburn (QEGS) and couldn't get to Bloomers until I was 15 and could go on my own, Went with my mates loads of times.

White Hart Lane.
Cor blimey-been down there a few times. Once ran a coach from here to a Cup game in 82 and a lad in the coach just before us was knifed and died, on what was the suicide walk up to the ground.
Hopefully going again this season to the new stadium unless our Trust have their say on away tickets (rolls eyes)

Providence Park, home of the Portland Timbers, seen both Burnley and Preston play there in pre-season games. Think Brett was playing for PKE at the time if I recall.
