Guitar pickups...

Over a decade ago i happened to get a job lot of guitar pickups for not very much money... talking about 100 pickups,

I'm looking to shift them on. I've looked in to selling them all individually via ebay or reverb while listing their output/ resistance ratings but it's a lot of effort that might not pay off. Anyone got any advice or contacts to help me get rid in one job lot?

Try Terry Pack Guitars
Bispham lad, contact number on his website
Depends on the quality but Terry might take them
Thanks for the name. I'll check him out. They're good quality, came from a guy who repaired guitars for nearly 40 years and they're mostly recognisable names and have been tested to be sure they're working/ what the output is. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

If there's a 490T amongst them I'd be interested in it.View attachment 14606
I'll have a look over the next few days for you... can't remember off the top of my head as its been a while since I looked at them last!

Any special requirements like output, wear patterns etc. Also forgive my ignorance but was the 490t only made by one manufacturer? If so... original or just something of the same type/ style you're after?

I've a couple of friends who might be interested, if you can list the make and models plus roughly what you'd be looking for, I'll let them know.

It’s prob worth doing a bit of research on them if there older ones…i’ve got a 1980 gibson humbucker (Tim shaw) valued around £300-400 infact it’s worth more than the epiphone 335 it’s currently installed in…🤣

Terry has a factory abroad and makes very good quality guitars for around £2000. He fitted a pick up to one of my acoustic guitars recently

If I was you, I'd make a list up and email places like New Kings Rd Vintage Guitars in London who specialise in older stuff. There will be loads of others too- one in Soho I think.

Probably worth spending some time doing it right.

It's a Gibson bridge pickup, that they fit in the 90s, I have a les paul where some philistine has swapped it out for a Seymour Duncan. As long as its a 490T the other specs are in order. I'm only interested in getting the guitar back to factory standard so an alternative isn't really what I'm after.

Understandable... I'll double check to see what I've got but it does sound like a long shot that I'll have the exact thing you're after. Keep your fingers crossed 🤞
