Harrogate .. anyone know anything about them?

I saw them play at AFC Fylde at the beginning of last season. They looked pretty solid and well organised and should
have won the game in the second half when they were the better side ( finished 0 0) I don't think their squad has changed much since then and they have the veteran Jon Stead . I think they might field their strongest side as they have never been in the third round before but as both teams have games the following Tuesday who knows what team the Managers will pick.

I watched them the other week out of interest to see how they were coping with life in league footy before we drew them in the cup.
Looked a dam decent side and quick on the break.

Their manager is the longest serving in the football league. Coincidence that his Dad is Chairman.

As posted above, tune in to the Podcast on Friday night. Plenty of insight from ex Harrogate keeper Mark Fenton and John’s brother (who lives there)

Played at the ground numerous times as i went to school just up the road and school finals were played there.

I've seen them play a few times. Everyone knows Jon Stead and how awkward he can be at set pieces. He is 37 now but you know how poor we are at defending corners. Jack Muldoon joined from Fylde where he was often understudy for Danny Rowe. He always impressed me when I saw him and chases everything so could be a danger to us. A much tougher tie than Eastbourne.

Play on plastic, tidy but low rise ground out on the York Road about 1.5 miles from the town centre; good youth set up attracting players from all over North Yorks. Not many pubs in the immediate area but loads in the town centre. It makes a good away day. I meet up my mates from Lancaster there at least once a year for a piss up. Its well heeled and allegedly has the highest level of people being unfaithful to their partner in the UK (not the reason why we go there I would add)

Was plastic Cuthbert , ripped up in the close season .

They played great at Wembley in the play offs and had an impressive start to the season but only won one 1 out of 5 recent games and They look tired ; most of the team played below conference level a few seasons ago . Pool should win this one but its the Cup ; depends on what teams play . Putting out a weak side could prove financially disastrous .

John Stead 😬 Now I'm concerned. We're pish at defending corners...
From what Cuthbert says it sounds like there might be a lot of pampas grass in the Harrogate area 🏝️🌾🌾

Jerry Yates a former player .. seem to think stop him and they can get a result.

Yates and Madine have nine goals between them so far this term, with the latter also boasting three assists for the League One Tangerines, visitors to Wetherby Road on Saturday.
Madine is more of a household name having played in the Premier League for Cardiff City in the not-too-distant past, though it is the threat of Yates that Weaver is all too aware of.
The former Rotherham United forward spent a couple of months on loan with Harrogate back in 2015/16, netting four times in eight matches when the Sulphurites were still a National League North club.

We see a bit of them on the local TV reports here (Whitby) they seemed to make a strong start to life in the EFL but have lost their way a bit recently with a few indifferent results. Still be a tough test I reckon.
