Harrogate commentary on BBC

Highlights on BBC have the BBC Radio York commentary (scroll down on link below). They said the sending off was harsh!! 🤣

Funny how people see the game differently...I struggle to think of many more clear cut red cards in 25+ years of watching Blackpool - and we should know, we've had about half a dozen this season!

Chizzy gets hammered and to some extent rightly so for his squeaky outrage about pitch invasions but it's bollocks this "the away comms is always better" line.

The Peterborough guy last week sounded like he'd been drugged, never heard a more depressingly boring commentary in my life.

I only heard them on the highlights, and they sounded like Marvin the depressed robot out of Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy. If I were a Harrogate fan I'd take the away commentary every time.

I quite enjoy the Chizzy and Brett show now ... what's the word I'm thinking of? Er... composure! Then it's used twenty times in the rest of the show. 😆

I must admit, at first I let Chizzy do my head in , but now I’ve embraced his style , I do really enjoy it when in sync with the moving pictures.

I would say the only reason to find it harsh is because it was accidental, genuinely looks as though he falls over and Madine trips over him whilst he's on the floor. But it is a sending off: "DOGSO = Denial of a Goal Scoring Opportunity". Here is a definite DOGSO that even looks a bit intentional:

Out of the two though, at least we got a decision when we're 3 - 0 up against League Two Harrogate! 😅

I won't forget his comment to the extent of: 'you've made your point, now get off the pitch', but do keep to Chiz/Brett when watching in iFollow.

They can be comically bad, but at least their chat in between play is Blackpool-focused. You do get some nuggets of insight between the misnaming of players and Chisnall verbally calculating how close a throw-in is to the halfway line.

It does make you wonder what those on Radio Lancs are making of the game because what I'm watching and what's being described are completely different things.

I heard him say it was harsh too, on the tele you can see him put his hand out and trip Madine up, but I suppose the commentators were probably sat in the stand and just saw him slip and didn’t see the hand go out

Yes, the defender deliberately grabbed out at Madine's legs after he had slipped over so the ref was absolutely spot on to send him off.

The commentary pair were terribly biased. At times I felt a bit embarrassed for them, they were that bad. It was like they weren't used to seeing that class of opposition so were struggling to comprehend why they found themselves several goals behind.

The Harrogate commentary was pitiful
All I heard was. “...and the ball is played into the box”

I don’t think he mentioned a Blackpool player by name throughout the game.
In Chizzy’s defence he does swot up on the opposition and can name them all.

It was stupid at that stage and I'm sure if the ref thought he had a way out it would have been a yellow. But he didn't. The player deliberately tripped him up. He had to go.
