I had one made for my 18th. Encouraged after watching Quadrophenia and the following mod revival.
My dad recommended Nat Dunsby who he'd used years/decades earlier. Went up the stairs on church street & it was like going back in time.
Old fashioned tailoring equipment & then a little Jewish bloke appeared like in Mr Benn.
Several fittings & numerous inside leg measurements later I finally got to wear it.
Felt like the dogs knowing it wasn't a suit off the peg.

Not yet, but have been recommended by mates at work to get it done, especially as I have an ever expanding waist line

I went to have trousers made to measure with 2 others for a wedding

He said to my first mate ' i see you hang to the left Sir '

He then turned to me and said ' you dont seem to hang at all Sir '

Still fit perfectly.

Did Nat do good trade knocking out 40 inch flares for the northern dance floors. I was a pretend NS went to a few highland room all dayers but never owned the 40"ers.

A suit and 3 shirts made in Muscat, Oman for less than 50 notes in Muscat in 1980. Made in around 3 days as well.

When laying over in Changi (Singapore) around 1960 decided to visit a tailor for a made to measure suite, not only was it ready in the late afternoon following a morning visit but surprise, surprise two were made and the cost from memory was about £5.
Had them for years and the best suites I have owned up until my recent purchase of a Moss Bros suite.

Had a suit made in Munich 2012 bought with a Groupon voucher still cost me €500 but it is the dogs bollox, still wear it now when l go out somewhere posh (not very often though)!

Oxford bags mate not flares and certainly not 40 inches.High waistbands with 6 buttons .
