Hope this is okay to post - I'm looking for straight cisgender men to take part in research and thought you all might be able to help.

I'm looking for straight cisgender adult men who want to take part in a two-part study examining men's attitudes towards transgender people.
Responses are anonymous, each of the two sessions will only take about 10 minutes, and you'll go into the draw to win one of 2 x £10 Amazon vouchers.

I’d have thought you’d lost everyone on here when you typed cisgender?
Maybe you should explain that to all as a phrase unless you want people to have to Google it?

You're barking up the wrong tree with this site I'm afraid, it's generally populated by older men who wish it was still 1845 and get confused and angry over new things.

The guy phrased his request perfectly - you can be trans gay or straight, and cis gay or straight.
I don’t see a problem.
 
Pretty sure gender isn't assigned at birth either. It's a long time ago since I did biology at school but am sure I remember something about X and Y chromosomes dictating your sex during the fetus development? Has science around thus now been debunked?
 
I’m pretty sure the research is really into how quickly a message board can go into meltdown by asking a simple question!

Based on responses so far I’m pretty sure I don’t even identify as being an Earthling any more!
 
With all this cisgender malarky, they'll be letting women play football next and having female commentators, plus make the women's football articles on the same pages as the men's on the BBC so I mistakenly read them thinking it's about the normal bloke teams!

Or do we have to use different words for this too just to make people feel clever/superior/more important.?
 
Someone will come along soon wanting to rewrite the end of Sleeping Beauty as the Prince wasn’t given consent to kiss her, could this be implied he forced himself on her? Don’t let the wokies win l say!

It’s funny how some always deem people with a different view to there’s as old gammon types stuck in the past. I wonder how many wokies on here who are under the age of 50.

Johnno it’s the phrase cisgender- not common parlance for most people unless you Google it.
Then you take the average demographic on here and to help the o/p they’d be better off explaining it first to get a response.
It’s not the type of request it was just the wording will have lost most people.

It’s like when you’re discussing a subject with lawyers and they roll straight into legalise. Unless you’re know the words and meaning you’re just lost.

I honestly had never heard the phrase before and o thought I was “down with the kids” 😂😂😂
 
i have no idea what a cisgender is and don’t really want to know to be honest. But I find myself feeling sorry for Stabell who has now had to endure a classic AVFTT thread being sabotaged by all the usual suspects ( myself included ) Maybe time to bin it before it gets even worse.
 
I like this thread....I think the op will soon realise it has been somewhat hijacked but in the “best possible taste” 🤔😳😀😉.
Think he ( she) chose the wrong platform to post this request on.
Have to say never heard of the title cisgender....mind you I’m still not sure what exactly a woke is either😉...

Earth years or Kashyyyk years? At 381 days in a Kashyyyk year it would only make him @176 in Earth years - given that a day on Kashyyyk last 26 hours!

Err, approximately I bet I mean, and anyhow this was all a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away and nobody even knew about Earth, yeah so explain that, geek!

You are making a good point as regards the OP who I’m sure is a nice man/woman and people not knowing what it meant etc etc but I just won’t engage with the nonsense in any form as my personal standpoint.
Everyone is entitled to live in this World and act how they want legally, be who they want as long as it harms no one else and call themselves what they want as long as they don’t expect everyone to call them by that title......and I don’t have to join in by pretending I endorse something I don’t endorse because I think it’s nonsense
 
Having just completed the survey, I think the demographic on here is exactly what the researcher is after. Go on, give it a go, you might be interested at what is actually both asked and not asked.

Gender is established in the womb unless you're Paloma Faith, in which case the child gets to choose its gender later.
