It's a good cause this, hope people turn up.

CELEBRITY FOOTBALL MATCH ⚽

Come on down to Bloomfield Road on Friday evening for the Celebrity Charity Football Match.

Celebrities including James Arthur, Dan Osborne, Dean Gaffney, Tom Malone, Lee Latchford Evans, to name just a few, will take to the pitch to raise money for Brian House Children's Hospice and the Matilda Foundation.

The game is in memory of local Blackpool youngster Jordan Banks who tragically passed away in 2021.

What would you call them? Some quite well known people there, hardly going to get older celebrities people on here know of, as they have to be able to play football, so will be younger. It's about the cause surely and the bfc legends. Hardly going to attract a listers.
I assume they are the product of some shit reality program, so not celebrities in opinion

I think, given the average age of poster on AVFTT, that they stepped off the popular culture bus when Wigan Pier closed down and Punk died a death.

If it's not someone from the 70's then it's "a nobody".

Couldn't agree more. It's £12 - you're not exactly going to get the likes Ant and Dec or whatever other people class as a big celebrity.. the whole point is to raise money for charity.

Wigan Pier was banging.... oh, that one.... 😏

The issue with that is it would be people of pensioner age trying to play football for 90 minutes.

I can see why they didn't go that route... 😆

Would this man have been box office?

I really don't, I just think he prefers a more dour, steady type of manager, the history of managers since he has owned the club proves that.
You're so full of shit it's unreal.
Dour - i'll give you Colin Hendry, Allardyce, Worthington, Ternent, Mullen, Ellis, Carr etc etc.
We've had 2 flamboyant managers in the last 40 years. Billy Ayre and Holloway. Granted Steve McMahon was a gobshite, but he wasn't charismatic.
You have no case. Be quiet.

How did it go?
Think if you paid £12 youd be more or less satisfied..

Bought a few family members VIP tickets cause they were excited for the meet and greet celebs advertised £35 each... 3 of the celebs they wanted to see didn't even turn up.. the meet and greet from 6-6.45 didn't happen... They met two people who were basically two youngsters advertised last minute. Said tea and coffee stations at half time, guest interviews etc... Got none of it. So basically paid £35 to watch the game from the balcony 😂

That’s pretty poor to be honest

Yeah disappointing.

Sounds like some on the club and some on celebrity soccer. Ultimately the club are offering and promising things, that should be upheld.

Took my family and found it great entertainment for £38 for two adults and 2 kids. Would be interested to see if they did it yearly or bi annually like soccer aid and promoted more and more each year eventually could get a good few people going. I only knew it was happening this week so presume it hasn’t been well advertised. Looks to be around 1200/1300 there

Not sure where you were but ALL the BFC legends GTF, Baps, Brett, Eardley, Southern, Parker etc came up pre match interviews, photos and signing stuff and they all returned post match with Ollie came up post match to mingle with everyone … they couldn’t have been more engaging. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Not sure, I didn't go.. just going off what I was told - but it was meant to be celebrity meet and greet aswel as ex players which is what they wanted (meaning expecting to see James Arthur etc). They've been to charity matches previously so I guess they had an idea of what to expect and just felt dissapointed.

Love to know if anyone spoke to Holloway - that said, I remember when he was at Bloomfield Road and he was a rude bastard and always shunned fans when they approached him (always used to come up to the lounge and didn't make eye contact with anyone!).

That was our experience of Holloway - even at the kids Christmas party.
His face for the media is the one that earns him money.

Players would run through brick walls for Holloway and he did lead us to the promised land. We died and went to heaven. I could never say anything bad about him after the best trip.
