Honeymoon over.....

After a flattering start to life in the Championship things are starting to look like I thought it might be before the season started, struggling in a higher division.
Having said that you do now seriously have to question the manager as to his team selections and substitutions. Run of results like ours in this day and age normally results in the manager looking for a new job.
Something drastically needed as we are looking piss poor.

Are you putting your name forward?

Simms in January paired with Yates, Lavery and Madine as back up.

Dale ditched.

A creative midfielder played alongside Dougall.

Back to tactics that work. We can come again. I fear for the rest of December though as morale looks shot and the feel good factor has vapourised quicker than £11 million in a Segesta Ltd current account.

A lot of this bad run has been of our own making.
Looking at Derby picking youngsters to cover injuries.
Yet we are fcuking shooting ourselves in both feet with weird starting 11’s, best strikers on bench, constant fcuking tinkering. No wonder they look so disjointed. Easy fix. But will NC accept his experimental jazz phase is killing our season? Doubt it. Just look at the Maxwell selection again. Now cost us two games from mistakes. If it wasn’t for the injury he’d be starting against Peterborough, so might be a blessing in disguise.

There do seem to be some glaring errors being made with formations and personnel.

Not sure why Gabriel isn’t in, for Maxwell to breakdown like that he must have been ‘risked’ which seems odd as Grimmy was playing really well. Keeping two defensive mids on the pitch when you’re chasing the game is bizarre. We’ve two fit strikers, it’s time to start playing them even if they’re fairly similar - even though nothing came of it Jerry seemed to move the Derby back line about about in the last ten minutes.

Having said all that we’ve been in a slump for the past month. It happens, Critch does know what he’s doing despite appearances him and the playing are trying to win. They just don’t get it right every time.

There will be a month within this season where we’re scoring for fun and winning the majority.

Just got to get through this, starting next week. Critch does need to change things though.

We have a few wingers but they're all so average. I am wondering if a midfield diamond with a front two and attacking full backs might work better with the personnel we have.

Harsh blaming Maxwell, makes a decent save, defence fails to react.

It was an awful save. Got next to nothing on it. Slow to react.
Last week he cost us two goals flapping like a blind fish out of water. Now this non save. Didn’t even push it away.
Grimshaw didn’t deserve to be dropped now it’s come back to bite us.

It’s almost all of our own making and just as easily rectified if we select the team based on our strengths and not some half arsed fancy gambit which is proving time and again not to work 🤦‍♀️

It can be sorted, we just need to stop trying to be clever and different with team selections.

Scoring for fun? Winning or not I don’t consider 20 goals in 22 games scoring for fun.

I thought it was a weak hand that Maxwell got on it and could have done better. The kind of repeat offence that finished Joe Harts career off at the top level.
I wouldn't have changed Keepers last week but it's not really the reason we're on a bad run.

Read it properly. There will be a time in this season where we start scoring goals. It’s not happening currently but we all need to dig in and get behind the team. It’s too easy to just turn out and and shout from the roof tops during the good spells.

My point is we’re going through a bad patch. It won’t last forever. We’ve just over half of the season to play and a transfer window coming up. It’s not like we have a hopeless manager with a bunch of left over players. Those days really were a cause for concern this is a million miles away from that.

But I do understand the frustration, some of the decisions are head scratchers.

I really hate the way the first thing our back four and midfield do on receiving the ball is look to see who is behind them instead of looking for a forward pass.
Yates, Lavery and Madine must be so brassed off making forward runs and seeing the ball continually being passed backwards
