America has declared that Hong Kong is no longer an autonomous state from China which means it could lose special trading terms as a financial hub. I wonder what effect this could have on Simons business and whether he might be considering moving to say Singapore.

America has declared that Hong Kong is no longer an autonomous state from China which means it could lose special trading terms as a financial hub. I wonder what effect this could have on Simons business and whether he might be considering moving to say Singapore.

The nature of his business is that he can get on a plane and be elsewhere very quickly. I know some of his biggest investors are US-based (pension funds etc) so its a distinct possibility that he’ll have to make that choice.
