Yeah thats what I mean, plus why announce on a bank holiday and ruin peoples bank hols, could have waiting till Monday surely. Its the off season so no rush? Maybe its just wishful thinking but seems odd.A while.
Wednesday 4/1 17.00 Beale announced.
Thursday 5/1 14.00(?) Critchleave announced
That's hardly enough time for the Club to engage with the lawyers over the exact wording of NC's contract.
It's inconceivable that the chain of events started Wednesday daytime. QPR will have made their approach some while back, Villa will have asked Beale for his thoughts, Villa will have prepared for him leaving etc
Following on you'd think and hope that we have prepared for the departure and that we are well down the line. In fact I'd be surprised if we didn't make an appointment this coming week.
Whoknows.2 weeks at least, for the club to be given permission to speak to him, to agree terms and then legal contracts drawn up, and agreed compensation with SS . QPR have known for months about Beale, that's why Warburtons contract wasn't renewed.. as soon as it ended.. they went in for him weeks ago. It wouldn't surprise me if all the pool players found out prior to the Peterborough game...
Says agreement reached with Villa so it'll probably all be done properly. So was permission granted/negotiated to speak with Villa or did he quit and walk away immediately?
Maybe it was leaked and villa decided to make it public, remember villa wanted to make this weekend great for their fans, unfortunately on our expense... However I have a feeling something will be announced on Monday afternoonWhoknows.
But I do find it odd to make the announcement on a bank holiday knowing it'll ruin pool fans weekend.
When there's no real advantage to doing so, its the off season and they could have waited until Monday?
Maybe.... unless its been going on a while and they have just agreed something for a new guy, so had to get the news out when they did, give people a bit of time to digest it and for a new man Monday or soon after.
Could also be complete wishful thinking.
It's not ruined my weekend, yes I was surprised like many of us, but these things happen, for whatever reasons (usually ££££££) I'm concerned & hoping we choose the right candidate. But I'd guess most of those who go to the football will just continue as they did with the last lot in charge (boycott aside) whatever happens we've got a normal football club now, after about 30 years of tribunals, freebies & no shows. I also hope the club got wind of this some time ago & are fairly advanced in trying to recruit a replacement.Yeah thats what I mean, plus why announce on a bank holiday and ruin peoples bank hols, could have waiting till Monday surely. If there was a release clause fee, it would take less than 2 minutes. If not, with the funds available to Villa and Critchley saying he wants to go, it really wouldn't have been a long discussion.“Our focus now turns to succession planning“ sounds to me as if they’ve been caught on the hop, although I can’t see how a deal could be agreed for critchley to go in a couple of days.
It wasn’t as sudden as some people think. Negotiations over compo aren’t completed in 24 hours, it’s a chain of events QPR would ask Villa for permission to speak to Beale likewise with Villa asking BFC re Critchley. While this can be done over a reasonably short time scale it’s definitely not 24 hrs.But just because Beale was announced to leave on Wednesday doesn't mean it wasn't in the pipeline for longer.... and Villa could have then been planning for the next guy before he went officially.
Just seems an odd time to release the bad news for the bank holiday weekend, unless villa really wanted to themselves, so we obviously went first, but why not wait until Monday?
Unless we have something lined up for Monday?
Did they? Does a number 2 coming in a couple of days before it could have been announced on Monday mean that much to Villa?Maybe it was leaked and villa decided to make it public, remember villa wanted to make this weekend great for their fans, unfortunately on our expense... Well its not the news people wanted overall. Maybe it had to be announced when it did but if they've known for a while then is a bit weird to do it then, or maybe I'm just wide of the mark. It's not ruined my weekend, yes I was surprised like many of us, but these things happen, for whatever reasons (usually ££££££) I'm concerned & hoping we choose the right candidate. Just a standard line, doesn't say how far along that is.“Our focus now turns to succession planning“ sounds to me as if they’ve been caught on the hop, although I can’t see how a deal could be agreed for critchley to go in a couple of days.
I think these long contracts now have release clauses / shorter notice periods esp in football or you get the Harry Kane scenarioWe better get a shed load of compo cash, otherwise what’s the point of long term contracts?!
But our club is good at keeping things in, like Jake Daniel's no leaks.A few days I reckon . The fact that nothing in the press not even a hint suggests speed.
